KTVB (channel 7) is a television station in Boise, Idaho, United States, affiliated with NBC and owned by Tegna Inc. The station's studios are located on West Fairview Avenue (off I-184) in Boise, and its transmitter is located on Deer Point in unincorporated Boise County. It is rebroadcast by KTFT-LD (channel 7) in Twin Falls, Idaho, Twin Falls, which airs KTVB programming with local advertising for the Magic Valley area from its transmitter on Flat Top Butte near Jerome, Idaho, and maintains a local sales office in Twin Falls. Channel 7 is the oldest continuously operating station in Idaho. It debuted on July 12, 1953, as KIDO-TV, the state's second television station to broadcast. KFXD-TV (channel 6) was a television station in Nampa, Idaho, United States. It was the first television station in the state of Idaho, broadcasting for less than two months in the summer of 1953, between June 18 and August 11. Owned by radio station KFXD ( 580 AM), it did not have any network affiliation and aired very limited programming. All programs originated from the transmitter site, located at Deer Point in the Boise National Forest. KBOI-TV (channel 2) is a television station in Boise, Idaho, United States, affiliated with CBS. It is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group alongside low-power CW+ affiliate KYUU-LD (channel 35). King Broadcasting Company is an American former media conglomerate founded in 1946 by Dorothy Bullitt. Effective radiated power (ERP), synonymous with equivalent radiated power, is an IEEE standardized definition of directional radio frequency (RF) power, such as that emitted by a radio transmitter.
