KING-TV (channel 5) is a television station in Seattle, Washington, United States, affiliated with NBC. It is owned by Tegna Inc. alongside Everett-licensed independent station KONG (channel 16). Both stations share studios at the Home Plate Center in the SoDo district of Seattle, while KING-TV's transmitter is located in the city's Queen Anne neighborhood. However, master control and some internal operations are based at the studios of sister station and fellow NBC affiliate WCNC-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina. Bogus Basin
Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area is a ski area in Boise County, Idaho, north-northeast of the city of Boise. Bogus is operated by the Bogus Basin Recreation Association, a non-profit organization, on private and leased land in the Boise National Forest. Ski season generally runs from Thanksgiving weekend until the weekend preceding April 15, depending on snow conditions. The area also has cross-country skiing on of Nordic trails. The National Broadcasting Company's NBC Radio Network (known as the NBC Red Network prior to 1942) was an American commercial radio network which was in operation from 1926 through 2004. Along with the NBC Blue Network it was one of the first two nationwide networks established in the United States. Its major competitors were the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS), founded in 1927, and the Mutual Broadcasting System, founded in 1934. Dorothy Stimson Bullitt (February 5, 1892 – June 27, 1989) was an American businesswoman and philanthropist. A radio and television pioneer, she founded King Broadcasting Company, a major owner of broadcast stations in Seattle, Washington. KFXD-TV
KFXD-TV was the first television station in the U.S. state of Idaho. It broadcast on channel 6 from Nampa for less than two months in the summer of 1953, between June 18 and August 11. Owned by radio station KFXD ( 580 AM), it did not have any network affiliation and aired very limited programming. All programs originated from the transmitter site, located at Deer Point in the Boise National Forest. History In July 1952, Frank Hurt & Son, Inc., owner of KFXD, filed with the Federal Communications Commission to build a new commercial television station on channel 6 in Nampa, proposing a full facility to broadcast at 19,720 watts. The application was granted on March 11, 1953.
