KNNS (1510 AM) is an oldies radio station in Larned, Kansas, near Great Bend. History The Regional Mexican format began in October 2010. Before this, it was an affiliate of ESPN Radio from the spring of 2008 to 2010; before ESPN, it was an oldies station with the slogan "Music you remember". Before being an oldies station, it was a general talk radio outlet. In order to protect clear channel stations WLAC in Nashville, Tennessee and KGA in Spokane, Washington, also at 1510 AM, KNNS must sign off at local sunset every day. As part of owner Rocking M Media's bankruptcy reorganization, in which 12 stations in Kansas would be auctioned off to new owners, it was announced on October 31, 2022 that Hutchinson-based Ad Astra Per Aspera Broadcasting was the winning bidder for KNNS, KSOB and Salina-based KVOB for $40,000. KVOB (95.5 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to serve Lindsborg, Kansas, United States. The station is owned by Rocking M Media, LLC, while operated by Meridian Media, LLC under a local marketing agreement. History KVOB started as KQNS-FM in September 1988, then located on 95.9 FM with an ERP of 1.3 kW. At the time, the station carried an adult contemporary format. In 1994, B-B Broadcasting bought the station from Smoky Hill Broadcasting, and the following year, the station moved to 95.5 FM and upgraded their power to 15.5 kW. By this time, the station flipped to a mainstream rock format, branded as "Star 95." In 1999, the station flipped back to adult contemporary, keeping the "Star 95" moniker. Great Bend is a city in and the county seat of Barton County, Kansas, United States. It is named for its location at the point where the course of the Arkansas River bends east then southeast. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 14,733. It is home to Barton Community College. Salina is a city in, and the county seat of, Saline County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 46,889. In the early 1800s, the Kanza tribal land reached eastward from the middle of the Kansas Territory. In 1858, settlers from Lawrence founded the Salina Town Company with a wagon circle, under constant threat of High Plains tribal attacks from the west. It was named for the salty Saline River.
