KEGE (FM)
KEGE now known as X Radio Mexico La Gran (101.7 FM, "101.7") is an American radio station broadcasting a Mexican music format. Licensed to Hamilton City, California, United States, the station serves the Chico area. History The station began on KEWE, which had previously played jazz and blues music before switching its format to sports talk. The branding would become known as the ''SportsFan 1340''. However, the signal was extremely weak, so management switched formats and bands in 2006. The FM station remained as KRER while KEWE returned to the ESPN Radio format at 1340. The station was the flagship station for Butte College Roadrunner football (with Mike Wessels) and covers local high school sports (with Mike Baca) alongside its sister station KPAY. Butte College is a public community college in the Butte-Glenn Community College District in Chico and Orland, California. History After the passage of the 1960 Donahoe Act, the voters of Butte County created a local community college district in 1966 to serve the educational and vocational needs of its citizens. In 1967, Butte College began by offering law enforcement, fire science, and vocational nursing classes in various locations throughout Butte County. Chico Outlaws
The Chico Outlaws were a professional baseball team based in Chico, California, in the United States. The Outlaws were a member of the Northern Division of the independent North American League, which is not affiliated with either Major League Baseball or Minor League Baseball. From the 2005 season to the 2011 season, the Outlaws played their home games at Nettleton Stadium, on the campus of Chico State University. The team officially folded on February 29, 2012, and some of its remnants (including management and on-field staff) have gone to the NAL's newest team, the San Rafael Pacifics. The Golden Baseball League was an independent baseball league based in San Ramon, California, with teams located in the western United States, western Canada and northwest Mexico. The GBL was not affiliated with Major League Baseball or the organized Minor League Baseball system, but has featured players with MLB experience (Rickey Henderson, Jose Canseco, Alex Arias, Bud Smith, Desi Wilson, José Lima, Hideki Irabu, Junior Spivey, Mark Prior). It was formed in 2004 and began play on May 26, 2005. The GBL's presenting partner was Safeway Inc. KHWA (102.3 FM) is a radio station based in Mount Shasta, California (city of license is Weed, California), owned by Southern Oregon University and operated by Jefferson Public Radio, which also owned KSYC-FM in Yreka.
