KAYO (Albania)
KAYO is a state-owned Albanian defense and security company established in 2024. Headquartered in Tirana, the company was created to revitalize Albania's military industry by inheriting and modernizing the production capacities of the Mjekës Explosives Plant, Gramsh Mechanical Plant, and Poliçan Mechanical Plant. History Albania has inherited from the past a military industry which today does not exercise or meet many standards for modern production. In May 2024, the Albanian Parliament presented a draft law on the creation of a state-owned company for arms production, aiming to reactivate the arms industry in Albania. Earlier in April 2024, the Minister of Defence preceded the reawakening of the military industry in Albania. During his speech in parliament, the government's strategy to attract foreign investors to reinvigorate the country's three idle production sites in Polican, Elbasan and Gramsh was revealed. TIMAK (Albania)
TIMAK is an Albanian machinery and superstructure company, established in 2016. The company is headquartered in Tirana and it has delivered its products in over 20 countries. Its main production line focuses in repurposing structure to produce police cars and ambulances. It later expanded its production into military vehicles, due to a need for protected military ambulances, including those for Ukraine. In 2024, they introduced the first MRAP vehicle from Albania named SHOTA, which was developed by women engineers, using a Ford F-550 chassis. Pashaliman Naval Base
The Pasha Liman Base, or Pashaliman Base, is an Albanian Navy base south of Vlorë, Albania. History Cold War history Pashaliman was the only Soviet base in the Mediterranean in the 1950s. It was the hot spot of conflict between the Soviets and the Albanians in 1961 when Albania pulled out of the Warsaw Pact and the dispute of the four Whiskey-class submarine ownership which Albania had seized. Following the collapse of the Communist regime, the base was rebuilt by Turkey and under a bilateral agreement the Turkish Navy has the right to use it. Guido Crosetto (born 19 September 1963) is an Italian businessman and politician who has served as Minister of Defence since 22 October 2022 in the government of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The Parliament of Albania () or Kuvendi is the unicameral representative body of the citizens of the Republic of Albania; it is Albania's legislature.
