Justine Baltazar
Justine Sagaya Baltazar (born February 19, 1997), nicknamed "Balti", is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Converge FiberXers of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He is listed at 6 feet 9 ½ inches (2.07 m). Baltazar played his college career with the De La Salle Green Archers basketball, De La Salle Green Archers and had a short stint with the San Juan Knights of the MPBL. In 2022, he would make his professional debut with the Pampanga Delta before moving to Japan's B.League to play for the Hiroshima Dragonflies. In 2023, Baltazar returned to domestic basketball to once again play for his hometown, this time with the Pampanga Giant Lanterns in both the Pilipinas Super League (PSL) and later the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). 2023 MPBL Finals
The 2023 MPBL finals was the championship series of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League's (MPBL) 2023 season and the conclusion of the season's playoffs. In the best-of-five playoff, the North Division champion Pampanga Giant Lanterns faced the South Division champion Bacoor City Strikers, with both teams having not won an MPBL title nor appeared in the MPBL finals before, this series would determine which team becomes the league's fifth different champions. The series began on November 25, 2023 and ended on December 2, 2023. In three games, the Pampanga Giant Lanterns completed the first finals sweep in MPBL history, giving them their first MPBL championship and second league championship overall. UAAP Season 84
UAAP Season 84 was the 2021–22 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The Season 84 theme was "Fully Alive, Champions for Life" and the season's host was the De La Salle University. With the limitations brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, UAAP Season 84 only held men's basketball, men's and women's 3×3 basketball, women's volleyball, men's beach volleyball, cheerdance, taekwondo poomsae; and men's and women's chess tournaments as its events for the season. UST was declared UAAP general champion based on eight sporting events. Only the men's basketball, women's volleyball, and cheerdance were televised. UAAP Season 82 was the 2019–20 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The season was hosted by the Ateneo de Manila University. This season, hosted by the University of Santo Tomas officially opened on September 3, 2016. The opening ceremony was held at the UST Plaza Mayor at 3:00 pm with the formal introduction of ballroom dancing as a demonstration sport in this season by the host school University of Santo Tomas (UST) at España, Manila. The official ceremony started at 5:00 pm as there was a concert party themed "Dare to Dream" where the official theme song for the season was revealed. The Pilipinas Super League (PSL) is a men's professional basketball league in the Philippines. MPBL All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Award
The MPBL All-Star Game Most Valuable Player award is an annual Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League award given to the best performing player of the league's All-Star Game. It was first awarded after the 2019 All-Star Game, its inaugural edition. As of 2024, four players have won the award with Jeff Viernes being the only two-time recipient.
