The Jurong Central Single Member Constituency is a Single Member Constituency (SMC) for the Parliament of Singapore. Located in the West Region, it was created from Jurong Group Representation Constituency (GRC) and some of Yuhua SMC and was first contested in the 2025 general election. The current Member of Parliament (MP) for the SMC is Xie Yao Quan from the People's Action Party (PAP). The People's Action Party (PAP) is a major Conservatism, conservative political party in Singapore and is the governing contemporary political party represented in the Parliament of Singapore, followed by the opposition Workers' Party of Singapore, Workers' Party (WP). Xie Yao Quan
Xie Yao Quan ( zh, s=谢曜全, p=Xiè Yàoquán, born 19 October 1984) is a Singaporean politician. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Jurong Central Single Member Constituency (SMC) since 2025. He had previously represented the Jurong Central division of Jurong Group Representation Constituency (GRC) between 2020 and 2025. Education Xie was educated at Raffles Institution and Raffles Junior College. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering and a Master of Science degree in engineering management from Duke University. He was a recipient of the SAF Merit Scholarship (Combat). The Jurong Group Representation Constituency was a five-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) located in the West Region, Singapore, western area of Singapore. Jurong East–Bukit Batok GRC
Jurong () is a major geographical region located at the south-westernmost point of the West Region of Singapore. Although mostly vaguely defined, the region's extent roughly covers the planning areas of Jurong East, Jurong West, Boon Lay, and Pioneer, along with Jurong Island in the Western Islands cluster and the southernmost portions of the Western Water Catchment. The Jurong region can also include present-day Bukit Batok and Tuas.
