Judith Swinkels
Judith C.M. Swinkels (born 4 June 1961) is a Dutch politician, she was a member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands for the Democrats 66 from 3 November 2015 to 23 March 2017. Previously she was a lawyer and judge. Career Swinkels was born on 4 June 1961 in Tilburg. She went to the gymnasium in the same city between 1973 and 1979. She subsequently studied civil and European law at Leiden University and graduated in 1984. Swinkels was occupied as a lawyer between 1985 and 1999. Between 1999 and 2002 she worked for the Netherlands Competition Authority. House Of Representatives (Netherlands)
The House of Representatives (, pronounced ; commonly referred to as the ', literally "Second Chamber of the States General") is the lower house of the bicameral parliament of the Netherlands, the States General, the other one being the Senate. It has 150 seats, which are filled through elections using party-list proportional representation. Generally, the house is located in the Binnenhof in The Hague, however, it has temporarily moved to the former building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Bezuidenhoutseweg 67 in the Hague while the Binnenhof is being renovated. Tilburg () is a city and municipality in the Netherlands, in the southern province of North Brabant. Magdalena Adriaantje (Magda) Berndsen-Jansen (born 4 May 1950) is a Dutch former politician and police officer, born in Leiden. As a member of Democrats 66 (D66) she was a member of House of Representatives of the Netherlands between 17 June 2010 and 1 November 2015. She focused on matters of safety, judiciary and police. 2012 Dutch General Election
Early general elections were held in the Netherlands on 12 September 2012 after Prime Minister Mark Rutte handed in his government's resignation to Queen Beatrix on 23 April. The 150 seats of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands were contested using party-list proportional representation. The People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) received a plurality of the votes, followed by the Labour Party (PvdA). Prior to the election, polls had predicted an increase in support for the Socialist Party, primarily at the expense of the PvdA, but the PvdA regained support during the campaign, which was attributed to the leadership of Diederik Samsom and in the election the Socialist Party failed to improve its performance.
