2021 Campeonato Baiano
The 2021 Campeonato Baiano (officially the Campeonato Baiano de Futebol Profissional Série “A” – Edição 2021) was the 117th edition of Bahia's top professional football league. The competition began on 17 February and ended on 23 May. Esporte Clube Bahia, Bahia were the defending champions but they were eliminated in the semi-finals. The finals were played between Alagoinhas Atlético Clube, Atlético de Alagoinhas and Associação Desportiva Bahia de Feira, Bahia de Feira. This was the first season of the Campeonato Baiano with the finals played between two teams from outside of Salvador, Bahia, Salvador. Atlético de Alagoinhas won 5–4 on aggregate obtaining the first title. As champions, Atlético de Alagoinhas qualified for the 2022 Copa do Brasil and the 2022 Copa do Nordeste. 2021 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The 2021 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was a football competition held in Brazil, equivalent to the fourth division. The competition began on 26 May and ended on 13 November 2021. Sixty-eight teams competed in the tournament. Sixty-four teams qualified from their state leagues and cups, and four relegated from the 2020 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C (Boa Esporte, Imperatriz, São Bento and Treze). The match Imperatriz v 4 de Julho, played at the Estádio Frei Epifânio D'Abadia ( Imperatriz) on 28 August 2021 (Group A2 13th round), was finished in the 76th minute (0–0) after a strong storm caused the partial collapse of the grandstand roof located over the press booths and changing rooms of the teams and referees. Campeonato Baiano (lower Levels)
The Campeonato Baiano Second Division are the second tier level of the football tournaments for the Bahia state league. The competitions are organized by the Bahia Football Federation. Usually, the champions of a division are promoted in the next year to the immediately upper level. History The Second Level of the Bahia State Championship is competed since 1922, and was not held from 1924 to 1934, in 1938, from 1942 to 1964, in 1966, in 1969, in 1970, from 1972 to 1974, from 1976 to 1980 and in 2005. The Campeonato Baiano is the football league of the state of Bahia, Brazil. The championship has been played since 1905 without interruption. 2020 format First stage: 10 teams are included in one group, playing once only against all teams in the group. The four best teams qualify to the semifinals, while the last-placed team is relegated to the Second Level. Final stage The four best teams play in a two-legged knockout tie, with the first facing the fourth and the second facing the third placed. The winner of each Semifinal qualify for the Finals, which occur in the same way. The winners of the finals are the champions. Juazeiro, formerly also known as Joazeiro, is a municipality in the state of Bahia, in the northeastern region of Brazil. The city is twinned with Petrolina, in the state of Pernambuco. The Brazilian states football championships are the professional adult male soccer competitions in Brazil that take place between January and April for the Northeast, Central-West, Southeast and South regions. In some states from the North Region, however, it takes place in May or June. Historically, for economic and geographic reasons, such as long distances between the country's main cities, the state leagues were considered the most important championship for Brazilian clubs, especially before 1959, when a regular national championship (Taça Brasil) was first established.
