Araceli "Arly" Jover is a Spanish actress. She is best known for her role as the villainous vampire Mercury in the 1998 superhero film ''Blade''. Life and career Araceli Jover was born in Melilla, Spain. After living there for five years, her family was forced to move to Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands (Spain) because of her father's work as a soldier. She is the youngest of seven siblings; four sisters and three brothers. During her early years, she wanted to become a dancer. She began dancing at the age of 8. At 14, she dropped out of school, and at 15, she won a scholarship from the Comité Hispano Norteamericano. Èric Jover Comas (born November 1977) is an Andorran politician and member of the Democrats for Andorra (DA) political party. Jover served as the Ministry of Finance (Andorra), Minister of Finance of Andorra from 22 May 2019 until his resignation in January 2023. He previously served as Minister of Education. On 12 October 2020, Jover announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19, becoming the country's highest profile official to become infected during the COVID-19 pandemic in Andorra so far. José María Jover
José María Jover Zamora ( Cartagena, 5 June 1920 - Madrid, 14 November, 2006) was a Spanish historian. Career He was the most influential figure in developing contemporary Spanish historiography. In 1949, he became professor of "Universal History of the Modern Age" and "General Cultural History" at the University of Valencia. Later, he moved to the Complutense University of Madrid. In the mid-1960s, Jover was attracted to the new historiographical trends in Europe. The Annales School and the Catalán historian Jaume Vicens Vives were his major influences. Among his students are many famous historians, such as Javier Tusell, Elena Hernández Sandoica, Juan Pablo Fusi and Ángel Bahamonde. In 1975, he was placed in charge of the ''Historia de España'', begun and edited by Ramón Menéndez Pidal, who died before it was completed. Jover restructured and amplified the original plan. Juan Jover
Juan Jover Sañes (23 November 1903 – 28 June 1960) was a Spanish racing driver, born in Barcelona. With Paco Godia, Jover was the first Spanish driver to compete in Formula One. Jover raced for Scuderia Milano-Maserati in the 1947 Bari Grand Prix, where he finished sixth, and in the 1948 Albi Grand Prix, where he came seventh. He then finished second in the 1949 24 Hours of Le Mans with Henri Louveau. In 1951 he participated in the Formula One 1951 Spanish Grand Prix, qualifying 18th, but he did not start the race after blowing his engine. Jover then switched to hillclimbing, and also endurance racing with Scuderia Pegaso. He suffered serious injuries to his left leg when he crashed his Pegaso Z-102 during trials for the 1953 24 Hours of Le Mans, but returned to hillclimbing in June 1954. Loui Jover (born April 1967) is an Australian painter and artist. He was born in Serbia but moved to Australia at a young age, where he has lived since. He is known for his artwork in ink wash paintings on vintage book pages. Jover started his work on art in his childhood, but did not start public art until 1989, when he joined the Australian army as an illustrator and photographer. Early life Loui Jover stated that he started painting as a child and carried on with his obsession for art in the Australian army. Loui Jover began painting in acrylics and oils and further on in his career he also did collage and sculpture. Francisco Jover y Casanova (1836, Muro de Alcoy - 19 February 1890, Madrid) was a Spanish painter of historical scenes and portraits. Biography After beginning his artistic studies in his hometown, he attended the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, where he studied with Federico de Madrazo. After winning a third-class medal at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in 1864, he received a government stipend to study in Rome at the Accademia Chigi.
