Jothilakshmi
Jyothi Lakshmi (2 November 1948 – 9 August 2016) was an Indian actress who appeared in more than 130 movies. In the early 1970s, she was well noted for her leading roles and songs in movies. She also acted in female-oriented movies and was a trained dancer. She predominantly worked in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam movies. In the early 1980s, her popularity gradually declined due to her sister Jayamalini's entry into the movie industry. Her debut was in the film '' Vanambadi'' in 1963 as a dancer in the song 'Yaaradi Vanthaar'. She is best remembered for her supporting roles in Thedi Vandha Mapillai and Periya Edathu Penn. Her daughter Jyothi Meena is also an actress. ''Neerum Neruppum'' () is a 1971 Indian Tamil-language swashbuckler film directed by P. Neelakantan, starring M. G. Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa, with R. S. Manohar, Thengai Srinivasan among others. The storyline is based on the 1844 French novella '' The Corsican Brothers'' by Alexandre Dumas. It was released on 18 October 1971. The film was remade in Hindi as '' Gora Aur Kala''. Plot The story is about twin princes Manivannan and Karikalan who seek to avenge their father's death at hands of King Marthandan. The twins are separated. ''Thedi Vandha Mappillai'' () is a 1970 Indian Tamil-language film produced and directed by B. R. Panthulu. The film stars M. G. Ramachandran, Jayalalithaa, S. A. Ashokan, Major Sundarrajan, M. V. Rajamma and Cho Ramaswamy . It is a remake of Panthulu's own 1967 Kannada film '' Beedi Basavanna''. The film was released on 29 August 1970. It won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Film. Plot The movie begins with Solaimalai's eldest baby daughter being kidnapped. The baby eventually is saved by a passerby and is raised as his own daughter.
