Jordan Mancino
Jordan Mancino (born May 22, 1983) is an American musician. He has played with several metal acts as the official or as a live member, including As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, and Wovenwar. Background Jordan Mancino started his musical career with the band Edge of Mortality which played shows with Born Blind and Cast in Stone, one member went on to join Bleeding Through. He later met his longtime friend Tim Lambesis. The duo were in several acts together including Point of Recognition. The two friends left that band and then formed As I Lay Dying. The two formed the band and released six albums, as well as a compilation of cover songs. In 2009, Mancino joined the supergroup Souls of We. When Lambesis plotted to kill his wife, Mancino, along with AILD's guitarists Phil Sgrosso and Nick Hipa and bassist Josh Gilbert formed a new band called Wovenwar with Shane Blay, Oh, Sleeper's guitarist and vocalist. Wovenwar was an American metal band from Southern California, formed in 2013. They released their self-titled debut album in 2014. The band's musical style on the album has been described as alternative metal, melodic metalcore, hard rock, and modern heavy metal. History In May 2013, As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was arrested for soliciting the murder of his wife. The remaining members soon began experimenting and writing with guitarist Shane Blay of Oh, Sleeper. Lambesis' arrest negatively affected his relationships with As I Lay Dying, which resulted in the departure of all members except for Jordan Mancino, who had been sharing an ownership for the band's rights with Lambesis since 2006. Philip Joseph Sgrosso (born September 16, 1985) is an American musician, best known as former guitarist of the metalcore band As I Lay Dying (band), As I Lay Dying, the rhythm guitarist of the band Wovenwar, former touring guitarist for Nails (band), Nails, and the current lead guitarist for Saosin. Career Before joining the band that jumpstarted his musical career, Sgrosso was a part of a local act known as Tomra, a melodic metalcore band from San Diego, which disbanded in 2003. Joining As I Lay Dying at the age of 17, Sgrosso had honed his creative talents as one of the songwriters on 2005's ''Shadows Are Security''. ''Beneath the Encasing of Ashes'' is the debut studio album by American metalcore band As I Lay Dying. Initially released on June 12, 2001, the album was re-released through Metal Blade Records along with songs from the band's split album with ''American Tragedy'' on May 16, 2006. It is the band's only record to feature bassist Noah Chase. Background ''As I Lay Dying'' were originally formed under the name "Life Once Lost;" however the band later opted to change their name after reorganizing in 2000. Lambesis and guitarist Eli Bowser would then join Society's Finest; and bassist Jon Jameson joined Noise Ratchet.
