Jordan Basketball Federation
The Jordan Basketball Federation is the governing body of basketball in Jordan. The federation founded in 1957, represents basketball with public authorities as well as with national and international sports organizations and as such with Jordan in international competitions. It is affiliated with FIBA and FIBA Asia. The federation also organizes the Jordan national basketball team and the Jordan women's national basketball team. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular Basketball court, court, compete with the primary objective of #Shooting, shooting a basketball (ball), basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's Basket (basketball), hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a Backboard (basketball), backboard at each end of the court), while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. The Jordanian Premier Basketball League () is a professional basketball league in Jordan. It is the top league in the country with the second-tier league going by the name of ''First Division''. There are seven teams competing in the 2024–25 season: Al Ahli, Al-Ashrafieh, Al-Jalil, Al-Jubaiha, Amman United, Orthodox and Shabab Bushra. It organises the Arab Basketball Championship for national teams in the men and women categories, as well as club championships.
