Jonny Dollar
Jonathan Peter Sharp (20 February 1964 – 29 May 2009), better known by the pseudonym Jonny Dollar, was an English record producer and songwriter. Sharp was born in Westminster, London, and his father was the Australian film director Don Sharp. Dollar is best known for his work on the Bristol collective Massive Attack's first album '' Blue Lines'', on which he co-wrote the single "Unfinished Sympathy". Sharp's pseudonym came about during the recording of ''Blue Lines'', where he was the only person working on the album being regularly paid. He co-produced Neneh Cherry's first three albums: ''Raw Like Sushi'', '' Homebrew'', and ''Man'', and Gabrielle's third album '' Rise''. He provided early remixes for Portishead and co-wrote both the anti-racism song " 7 Seconds" featuring Youssou N'Dour and Cherry, and Kylie Minogue's " Confide in Me". ''Raw Like Sushi'' is the debut studio album by Swedish musician Neneh Cherry, released 5 June 1989 by Virgin Records. The album includes the commercially successful single " Buffalo Stance". Background An early version of "Buffalo Stance" appeared on the B-side of the 1986 Stock Aitken Waterman-produced Morgan-McVey single, " Looking Good Diving", titled "Looking Good Diving with the Wild Bunch". The single was not successful; however, the B-side was re-recorded with Tim Simenon of Bomb the Bass, and became the version of "Buffalo Stance" that was a worldwide hit, reaching No. 3 in the UK Singles Chart, No. 3 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and No. 1 in the Netherlands and Sweden. Eliza Doolittle (singer)
Eliza Sophie Caird (born 15 April 1988), better known by her former stage name Eliza Doolittle and now Eliza, is an English singer and songwriter from Westminster, London. After performing her music in live venues around London from the age of 15, Eliza signed to Parlophone in 2008. Her debut album was released on 12 July 2010 and went platinum. The album produced two UK top-40 hits, " Skinny Genes" and " Pack Up", the latter of which peaked within the top five on the UK Singles Chart. Natty (born 1983) is a British singer-songwriter, born in California. History Born Alexander Akiloe Philip Modiano in 1983 in San Francisco, California. Natty moved to London, England with his family at the age of one, where he grew up and went to school. His musical eclecticism of today reflects his "melting pot" upbringing, being mixed race and growing up in a multi-cultural cosmopolitan environment. Having started writing songs at an early age, he eventually found himself working in a London recording studio as a tea boy before working his way up to become a sound engineer, working with acts from a variety of genres. "7 Seconds" is a song performed by Senegalese singer-songwriter Youssou N'Dour and Swedish singer-songwriter Neneh Cherry.
