Jonathan Williams (c. 1752 – 19 August 1829) was a Wales, Welsh clergyman, schoolmaster and antiquarian writer. He was born at Rhayader, some time between 1752 and 1754, the son of a draper, and had two brothers who also went into the church. He studied at Pembroke College, Oxford, going on to teach at the grammar school in Leominster on the English-Welsh border. He was also curate of nearby Eyton, Herefordshire, Eyton. Jonathan Edward Williams (born August 21, 1988) is an American former professional football player who was a running back in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at East Carolina University. He was a member of the Cincinnati Bengals, Calgary Stampeders and Ottawa Redblacks. Early life Williams played high school football at Junius H. Rose High School in Greenville, North Carolina. He helped the Rampants complete back-to-back 16–0 seasons, winning the Class 4A State Championships both years as a junior and senior. He earned all-conference and all-area honors in 2005 and 2006 and was a third-team All-America selection as a senior by EA Sports. Jonathan Simon Williams (born 1960) is a Welsh Anglican priest: since 2012 he has been Archdeacon of Newport. Williams was educated at the University of Wales and the College of the Resurrection, Mirfield. He was made deacon at Petertide 1986 (28 June) and ordained priest the following Petertide (27 June 1987) — both times by Roy Davies, Bishop of Llandaff, at Llandaff Cathedral; and began his career with a curacies at Gelligaer and Cwmbran. He held incumbencies at Marshfield, and Bassaleg. He was collated archdeacon on 9 September 2012. Jonathan Williams (May 20, 1750May 16, 1815) was an American military officer, engineer, and politician. He served as the first Superintendent of the United States Military Academy from 1801 to 1803 and from 1805 to 1812. He served as Chief of Engineers of the United States Army Corps of Engineers from 1802 to 1803 and from 1805 to 1812. He led the construction of fortifications in New York Harbor from 1807 to 1811, including Castle Williams, the first casemated battery in the United States. He served as a member of the United States House of Representatives for Pennsylvania in 1815 but died before the 14th United States Congress assembled. Jonathan Peter Williams (born 9 October 1993) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Gillingham. He retired from international football for Wales in 2023. Jonathan Williams (March 8, 1929 – March 16, 2008) was an American poet, publisher, essayist, and photographer. He is known as the founder of The Jargon Society, which has published poetry, experimental fiction, photography, and folk art since 1951. Overview Williams was born in Asheville, North Carolina, to Thomas Benjamin and Georgette Williams, and raised in Washington, D.C. He attended St. Albans School in Washington, and then Princeton University, before dropping out to pursue the arts. Williams studied painting with Karl Knaths at the Phillips Gallery in Washington, D.C., and engraving and graphic arts with Stanley William Hayter at Atelier 17 in New York, followed by a semester at the Chicago Institute of Design. In 1951, he arrived at Black Mountain College to study photography with Harry Callahan and Aaron Siskind.
