Jonathan Johnson (baseball)
Jonathan Kent Johnson (born July 16, 1974) is an American former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for six seasons. He played for the Texas Rangers (baseball), Texas Rangers from 1998 to 2001, the San Diego Padres in 2002, and the Houston Astros in 2003. In 2018, he was named the first head coach of the new college baseball program at Columbia International University. High school and college career Johnson attended high school at Forest High School (Florida), Forest High School in Ocala, Florida. In his senior year, he committed to playing college baseball at Florida State University and was considered to be "clearly the most dominant pitcher" in his region. After graduating from high school, he spent three seasons with the Florida State Seminoles baseball team. Jonathan Johnson (born March 5, 1982) is an American middle-distance runner who specialized in the 800 metres. He is an " Abilene native". He made his collegiate breakthrough during his first year running for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, in 2002. Indoors, he finished second in the Big 12 Conference Championship and sixth in the 2002 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships; and outdoors he won the Big 12 Conference Championship in Columbia and finished fourth at the 2002 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Nils ''Jonathan'' Johnsson (born 11 January 1993), better known as Jonathan Johnson, is a Swedish professional ice hockey centre, currently playing for Skellefteå AIK in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Johnsson won the SHL's Le Mat trophy championship with Skellefteå AIK in 2024. Early life Johnson was born on 11 January 1993, in Gävle. ''Rollerball'' is a 1975 American dystopian science-fiction sports film directed and produced by Norman Jewison, and starring James Caan, John Houseman, Maud Adams, John Beck, Moses Gunn and Ralph Richardson. The screenplay, written by William Harrison, adapted his own short story "Roller Ball Murder", which had first appeared in the September 1973 issue of ''Esquire.'' Set in a near future world ruled by a corporatocracy, the film centers on the titular sport — an often-brutal spectacle used to help placate the populace. Jonathan E. (Caan), the sport's top player, finds himself at odds with the ruling powers, when his popularity threatens to hurt their grip on power. The film was released by United Artists on June 25, 1975. Jonathan Johnson (politician)
Jonathan Johnson (25 May 1866 – 22 May 1953) was a Norwegian teacher and politician for the Conservative Party. He was born in Christiania as a son of professor Gisle Johnson and Emilie Helgine Sofie née Dybwad. His paternal grandfather Georg Daniel Barth Johnson was an MP too. His sister married Oluf Saxe. Johnson finished his secondary education in 1883 and graduated with the cand.theol. degree in 1887. He was hired as a teacher in Tønsberg in 1889, advancing to the upper secondary school from 1902. He took up residence in Nøtterø, where he was elected to the municipal council in 1896 (serving on the executive committee) and was elected mayor in 1898. Johnson was elected as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from ''Jarlsberg og Larviks amt'' in 1900. He was later elected as an MP in 1912 and 1915. Jonathan Eastman Johnson (July 29, 1824 – April 5, 1906) was an American painter and co-founder of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City, with his name inscribed at its entrance. He was best known for his genre paintings, paintings of scenes from everyday life, and his portraits both of everyday people and prominent Americans such as Abraham Lincoln, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. He won the Academy Award for Best Sound Editing for his work on the World War II submarine epic '' U-571'' (2000). Career Johnson has been a leading figure in sound editing for many years.
