Armin Mueller-Stahl
Armin Mueller-Stahl (born 17 December 1930) is a retired German film actor, painter and author, who also appeared in numerous English-language films since the 1980s. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in '' Shine''. In 2011, he was awarded the Honorary Golden Bear. Early life Mueller-Stahl was born in Tilsit, East Prussia (now Sovetsk, Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia). His mother, Editta, was from an upper-class family and became a university professor in Leipzig. His father, Alfred Müller, was a bank teller who changed the family's surname to "Mueller-Stahl". The rest of the family moved to Berlin while his father fought on the Eastern Front in World War II. Mueller-Stahl was a concert violinist while he was a teenager and enrolled at an East Berlin acting school in 1952. Ursela Monn
Ursela Monn (born 2 December 1950) is a Swiss actress and singer. Career Monn is the daughter of a Swiss father and an Irish mother. From the age of 11 onward, she received ballet lessons. A year later, she attended the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. Her first stage role was a reproduction of Fiddler on the Roof. There, she collaborated with Boy Gobert of which before they concluded their drama at the Thalia Theatre in Hamburg. In 1976, she retired from there. Monn's breakthrough came through the role of Rieke in the 13-part ZDF series ', based on the eponymous novel by Hans Fallada. This was followed by numerous appearances in television series and films. From 1998, Monn has played in theatres in Berlin, especially in the Renaissance Theatre, as well as in Munich and Düsseldorf. Arno Surminski
Arno Surminski (born 20 August 1934 in Jäglack, East Prussia) is a German writer, living in Hamburg, a father of three and a grandfather of 8. After growing up in East Prussia, his parents were deported to the Soviet Union, while he was expelled to Schleswig-Holstein. Having finished his school education there, he was apprenticed to a lawyer from 1950-1953. He lived in Canada from 1957 to 1960, but then came back to Germany, where he worked for an insurance company from 1962 until 1972. Since 1972, apart from writing, he has been working as a journalist, specialising in economy and insurance. His fame is mainly due to his novels, the principal themes of which are his recollections of a happy childhood and the fate of the deportees; he has no interest however in revenge, but only wants to preserve his childhood memories. Monica Bleibtreu (; May 4, 1944 – May 13, 2009) was an Austrian actress and screenwriter, best known in the German-speaking world for her German film, television and stage roles. Life and career Bleibtreu was born in Vienna, Austria, the daughter of Helene Buchholt and Renato Attilio Bleibtreu. She studied drama at the renowned Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and made her cinema debut in ''Ludwig-Requiem for a Virgin King'' in 1972. Her later roles included appearances in Four Minutes and Tom Tykwer's '' Run Lola Run'', which also starred her son, actor Moritz Bleibtreu. She also starred as Katia Mann in Heinrich Breloer's television biodrama, '' The Manns - Novel of a Century'', and in ''Hilde'', a biopic of the late German actress and singer Hildegard Knef, which was released in 2009.
