Career Myers worked as a dentist in London and took up spirit photography in the 1930s. He claimed to communicate with an American Indian spirit guide called "Blackfoot". During a seance with an art editor for the ''Sunday Dispatch'', journalist Hannen Swaffer and magician Will Goldston, marked Photographic plate, plates were secretly inserted into Myers' camera. John Ripley Myers
John Ripley Myers (October 8, 1864 – December 22, 1899) was a co-founder (along with William McLaren Bristol) of the pharmaceutical company Bristol-Myers. Life John Ripley Myers was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on October 8, 1864. His father was John J. Myers (1831–1883), the first president of the Vermont Marble Company, and his mother was Helen Ripley. The extended Ripley family were active in several Rutland-area businesses and banks, and were wealthy as a result. Helen Ripley (1836–1865) was the half-sister of poet Julia Caroline Dorr and sister of American Civil War officers William Y. W. Ripley and Edward H. Ripley. John Ripley Myers graduated from The Morgan School in Clinton, Connecticut, and then attended Hamilton College. He graduated in 1887, and was a member of Sigma Phi. John Wescott Myers
John Wescott Myers (born Los Angeles, California, June 13, 1911 – died Beverly Hills, California, January 31, 2008) was a World War II test pilot who helped develop the P-61 fighter plane. The son of Louis Wescott Myers, a prominent California judge and lawyer, Myers was educated at The Thacher School, Stanford University and Harvard Law School. He returned to California to practice law, but was an avid pilot. When the US entered World War II, Myers took a job in the legal department of Lockheed, hoping to get piloting work. He was soon ferrying aircraft for them as a sideline, and did some test-piloting on the YP-38. He joined Northrop Aircraft in 1941 as chief engineering test pilot, flying many of Northrop's experimental planes. He was heavily involved with the P-61 program; he test-piloted the plane, and then taught American pilots on the Pacific Front to fly it. He was called "Maestro" for his flying skills. John Twiggs Myers (January 29, 1871 – April 17, 1952) was a United States Marine Corps general who was most famous for his service as the American Legation Guard in Beijing during the Boxer Rebellion. John Myers Myers (January 11, 1906 – October 30, 1988) was an American writer. He is known best for the fantasy novel ''Silverlock'' (1949), in which a man with a Master of Business Administration travels through a fantasy land, meeting dozens of characters from myth, legend, and romance for adventure and instruction. Life Myers was born in Northport, Long Island on January 11, 1906, to John Caldwell Myers and Alice O'Neil McCorry Myers. He was named for his grandfather John Myers, "the extra Myers, sparing me a dynastic 'II' as per race horses, cars, and yachts." Myers grew up in various places in New York, including New Paltz and New York City. He attended Bard St. Stephens College and then Middlebury College, but was expelled from the latter for writing unflattering verse about the faculty. John Myers (photographer)
John Myers (born 1944) is a British landscape and portrait photographer and painter. Between 1973 and 1981 he photographed mundane aspects of middle class life in the centre of England—black and white portraits of ordinary people and suburbia within walking distance of his home in Stourbridge. Myers self-published this photography in books in 1974 and 1990; then only after renewed critical attention in 2011 were more books dedicated solely to his photography published. His work was included in the international survey of photographers, ''The Photography Book'' (Phaidon Press, 2014). Since the early 1970s he has exhibited in the UK and Europe. His work is held in the collection of the Library of Birmingham, in the Arts Council Collection, and in the James Hyman Collection.
