Joe Jacobi
Joseph Bennet Jacobi (born September 26, 1969 in Washington, D.C.) is an American former whitewater slalom, slalom canoeist who competed from the mid-1980s to the mid-2000s. Competing in two Summer Olympics, he won a gold medal in the Canoeing at the 1992 Summer Olympics – Men's slalom C-2, C2 event at Barcelona in 1992 Summer Olympics, 1992. Biography Jacobi began canoeing at a day camp in Maryland. After growing up paddling on the Potomac River, Jacobi took his talents to the international stage and competed in twenty different countries, winning Whitewater National Championships in Australia, the Czech Republic, Costa Rica, Chile, and the U.S. Jacobi won the C2 U.S. National Championship for five consecutive years (1988–1992), and finished second in the overall standings of the C1 Champion International Whitewater series in 1991 and 1995 (he also placed fifth in 1992 and third in 1994). The 2000 Canoe Slalom World Cup was a series of six races in 4 canoeing and kayaking categories organized by the International Canoe Federation (ICF). It was the 13th edition. The series consisted of 5 regular world cup races and the world cup final. Calendar Final standings The winner of each world cup race was awarded 30 points. The points scale reached down to 1 point for 20th place in the men's K1, while in the other three categories only the top 15 received points (with 6 points for 15th place). WRCB (channel 3), branded Local 3, is a television station in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States, affiliated with NBC. The station has been owned by Sarkes Tarzian, Inc. since 1982. WRCB's studios are located on Whitehall Road on Chattanooga's north side; its transmitter is located in the town of Walden on Signal Mountain.
