André Jobin
André Jobin (August 8, 1786 – October 11, 1853) was a civil law notary, notary and political figure in Lower Canada and Canada East. Family and early life Jobin was born in 1786 in Montreal, in the old Province of Quebec (1763–1791), Province of Quebec. His parents were François Jobin and Angélique Sarrère, dit La Victoire. He studied at the Collège de Montréal, Collège Saint-Raphaël in Montreal, then Articled clerk, articled at law. Jobin qualified as a notary in 1813 and set up practice, originally in Montreal, later in Sainte-Geneviève, Quebec, Sainte-Geneviève on the island of Montreal. Jobin gradually built up an extensive notarial practice, initially with a clientele drawn from labourers and artisans, often doing agreements between masters and journeymen. He also drew up agreements for the substitution of military service. Christian Jobin
Christian Jobin (born April 7, 1952) is a Canadian politician and was the Member of Parliament (MP) for the district of Lévis-et-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière from 2003 to 2004. He has been a Liberal. Jobin was the mayor of St-Étienne-de-Lauzon from 1993 to 2001. He ran in the 1998 provincial election in Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, but was defeated. He also ran for mayor in Lévis in 2001 but he was defeated by Jean Garon. In 2003, Jobin won a by-election and became a Member of Parliament. Francis Lawrence Jobin
Francis Lawrence "Bud" Jobin (August 14, 1914 – August 25, 1995) was a politician and the 18th Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba, Canada. Jobin was born in Winnipeg, and was educated at the University of Manitoba. He moved to Flin Flon, in the northern part of the province, in 1935. He worked for Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting as a labourer, miner and surveyor, later working in the company's purchasing department. Jobin was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba in the 1949 provincial election, as a Liberal candidate supporting the government of Premier Douglas Campbell. Running in The Pas, he easily defeated independent incumbent Beresford Richards, who opposed the governing Liberal-Conservative coalition. Jobin was re-elected in the 1953 election, easily defeating opponents from the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) and Social Credit. Joseph-Hilarion Jobin
Joseph-Hilarion Jobin (October 25, 1811 – August 31, 1881) was a notary and political figure in Canada East. He represented Berthier from 1851 to 1854 and Joliette from 1854 to 1863 in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada. He was born in Montréal, the son of Joseph Jobin and Marie-Rachel Travé dit Saint-Romain, and was educated at the Petit Séminaire de Montréal. He apprenticed as a notary with his uncle André Jobin, was admitted to practice in 1833 and set up practice in Montreal. Jobin also served as a justice of the peace. In 1832, he married Rachel-Charlotte Desautels. Jobin did not run for reelection to the assembly in 1863. Raoul Jobin, (April 8, 1906 – January 13, 1974) was a French-Canadian operatic tenor, particularly associated with the French repertory. Life and career Born Joseph Roméo Jobin in Quebec City, Quebec, where he first took private voice lessons before studying with Emile Larochelle at the Laval University. Biography Thierry Jobin was 15 years old when he had his first opportunity to share his passion through journalism. Yolande Jobin (30 May 1930 – 11 October 2010) was a Swiss figure skater. She was the 1951 Swiss national champion. She represented Switzerland at the 1952 Winter Olympics Switzerland competed at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo, Norway.
