Jimmy James (musician)
Jimmy James is the stage name of James A. Fyke (born June 27, 1959), an American musician. He is a multi instrumentalist and a singer-songwriter. Early life, family and education James is from Colonia, New Jersey. He received a bachelor of Music degree from University of Tampa in 1981. In college, he was president of honorary music fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi. Career James originally played the bass in the rock band Tommy Tutone, later switching to guitar and drums and performing the role of band leader. He has played bass with Animotion, keyboards with Mike Tramp (White Lion), and guitar with Bad Company featuring Brian Howe. James has written rock music shows for theme parks such as Busch Gardens, Opryland, Fiesta Texas and for Disney. He has performed with acts that include Fabian, The Coasters, The Marvellettes, and Lou Christie. A guitar pick (American English) is a plectrum used for guitars. Picks are generally made of one uniform material—such as some kind of plastic ( nylon, Delrin, celluloid), rubber, felt, tortoiseshell, wood, metal, glass, tagua, or stone. They are often shaped in an acute isosceles triangle with the two equal corners rounded and the third corner less rounded. They are used to strum chords or to sound individual notes on a guitar. The Hammond organ is an electric organ invented by Laurens Hammond and John M. Hanert and first manufactured in 1935. Multiple models have been produced, most of which use sliding #Drawbars, drawbars to vary sounds. Until 1975, Hammond organs generated sound by creating an electric current from rotating a metal tonewheel near an electromagnetic pickup, and then strengthening the signal with an Power amplifier, amplifier to drive a speaker enclosure, speaker cabinet. Marshall is a British company that designs and manufactures music amplifiers, speaker cabinets, brands personal headphones and earphones, drums and bongos. The company also owns a record label called Marshall Records. It was founded in London by drum shop owner and drummer, Jim Marshall, and is now based in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, England.
