Jim Germany
Jim Germany (born February 2, 1953), is a former star running back in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played his college football at New Mexico State University, where he inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1994. He was drafted by the National Football League (NFL)'s St. Louis Cardinals in the 2nd Round of the 1975 NFL Draft, 46th overall. He was signed by the Cardinals and then traded to the Packers at the start of the season. The Packers released him a week later. The next year he was signed and released by the Dallas Cowboys and in the spring he was signed by the Eskimos. His seven-year career with the Edmonton Eskimos, starting in 1977, saw him paired with Neil Lumsden and quarterbacks Warren Moon and Tom Wilkinson. Running Back
A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive American football plays#Offensive terminology, handoffs from the quarterback to Rush (American football)#Offense, rush the ball, to line up as a receiver to catch the ball, and Blocking (American football), block. There are usually one or two running backs on the field for a given play, depending on the offensive formation. A running back may be a Halfback (American football), halfback (in certain contexts also referred to as a "tailback" — see #Halfback/tailback, below), a wingback (American football), wingback, or a Fullback (American football), fullback. Edmonton is the capital city of the Canadian province of Alberta. Edmonton Elks
The Edmonton Elks are a professional Canadian football team based in Edmonton, Alberta. The club competes in the Canadian Football League (CFL) as a member of the league's West Division (CFL), West Division and plays their home games at Commonwealth Stadium. The Elks were founded in 1949 as the Edmonton Eskimos and have won the Grey Cup championship fourteen times (including a three-peat between 1954 and 1956 and an unmatched five consecutive wins between 1978 and 1982), most recently in 103rd Grey Cup, 2015 and the most of any CFL club based in Western Canada. Tom Wilkinson (Canadian Football)
Tom Wilkinson (born January 4, 1943) is an American former professional football quarterback best known for his time with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League, where he played on six Grey Cup-winning teams. He was a Western Conference and CFL all-star quarterback in 1974, 1978 and 1979 and won the CFL's Most Outstanding Player Award in 1974. Wilkinson has been inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. Early life Wilkinson was born in Iowa and moved to Wyoming with his parents in 1945. Warren Moon
Harold Warren Moon (born November 18, 1956) is an American former professional Gridiron football, football player who was a quarterback for 23 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). He spent most of his career with the NFL's Houston Oilers and the CFL's Edmonton Elks, Edmonton Eskimos. Moon also played in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and Kansas City Chiefs. He is considered one of the greatest undrafted players in NFL history. Neil Lumsden
Neil James Lumsden (born December 19, 1952) is a Canadian politician and retired professional football player. Lumsden was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in the 2022 provincial election. He serves as Minister of Sport. Lumsden played his entire professional career in the Canadian Football League (CFL), mostly as a fullback and also as a running back for the Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Edmonton Eskimos from 1976 to 1985.
