Jeremy Anderson (artist)
Jeremy Radcliffe Anderson (October 10, 1921 – June 19, 1982), was an American artist and educator, known for his wood sculptures. He was an influential mid-century fine art figure in San Francisco, California; and taught classes at San Francisco Art Institute. Early life, family, and education Jeremy Radcliffe Anderson was born in 1921 in Palo Alto, California. His father Frederick "Fritz" C. Anderson (1889–1963) was a professor of Romance languages at Stanford University. Anderson graduated from Palo Alto High School. He continued his studied at San Mateo Junior College (now College of San Mateo). Anderson served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Gillis in the Aleutian Islands, during World War II. In 1947, Anderson married Frances Webster Whitney, from Ross, California and Inverness, California. They had three children.
