John Tilley (Kentucky Politician)
John C. Tilley is an American politician and attorney. He is a former member of the Kentucky House of Representatives and served as the Secretary of the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet. Tilley is a former chair of the National Association of State Legislature's Criminal Law and Justice Committee. He has worked both nationally and internationally in the areas of criminal justice reform, drug policy, and juvenile justice. Walker Wood Thomas (born August 13, 1963) is an American politician who has served as a Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives since January 2017. He represents Kentucky's 8th House district, which includes Caldwell County as well as part of Christian and Trigg counties. Thomas currently serves as chair of the House Standing Committee on Veterans, Military Affairs, and Public Protection. Biography Thomas was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and graduated from Austin Peay State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Matthew Griswold Bevin (; born January 9, 1967) is an American businessman and politician who served as the 62nd governor of Kentucky, from 2015 to 2019. He was the third Republican elected Kentucky governor since World War II, after Ernie Fletcher (2003–2007) and Louie Nunn (1967–1971). 2016 Kentucky House Of Representatives Election
The 2016 Kentucky House of Representatives elections were held on November 8, 2016, as part of the biennial United States elections. All 100 of Kentucky's state representatives were up for reelection. In Kentucky, members of the House of Representatives serve two-year terms. Accordingly, they are up for reelection in both presidential and midterm election years. Republicans gained 17 seats in the election, winning the chamber outright. This ended nearly 100 years of Democratic control of the house, as the last time that Republicans won a majority was in 1919.
