Dzau District ( ka, ჯავის მუნიციპალიტეტი, ''Javis municip’alit’et’i''; , ''Dzawy rajon''; , ''Dzauskij rajon'') is a district in South Ossetia. The Ossetian Military Road (, — ''Wælladžyry fændag'', ka, ოსეთის სამხედრო გზა) was constructed between 1854 and 1889, by the Russian Empire in the Caucasus. Oni Municipality
Oni ( ka, ონის მუნიციპალიტეტი) is a district of Georgia, in the region of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti. Its main town is Oni. Geography Oni Municipality borders Lentekhi Municipality to the northwest, Ambrolauri Municipality to the west, both in the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region. Kvaisa
Kvaisi or Kvaisa ( ka, კვაისი , ) is an urban-type settlement in the Oni Municipality of Georgia. According to the official subdivision of Georgia it is in the Oni district of the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region of Georgia. Settlement is located on the river Jejora (which is a tributary of Rioni river) on the slopes if Racha mountain ridge, 60 km north-west of Tskhinvali and 20 km from Oni. Lead and zinc deposits are located near the city and in the Soviet times an ore mining and processing enterprise and hydroelectric power station worked in the region. Ertso Lake
Ertso Lake ( ka, ერწოს ტბა) is a karst lake in the Java Municipality, Shida Kartli region of Georgia. Located in Qvirila river basin, north-west side of the Ertso-Tsona depression, at 1710 m above sea level. Lake Ertso is the biggest known karst lake in Georgia. Transcaucasian Highway
The Transcaucasian Highway () or TransKAM (ТрансКАМ) is a mountain highway in the South Caucasus region, connecting southern Russia and Georgia (country), Georgia. Roki Tunnel
The Roki Tunnel (also called Roksky Tunnel, ka, როკის გვირაბი; ; ) is a mountain tunnel of the Transkam road through the Greater Caucasus Mountains, north of the village Upper Roka. It is the only road joining North Ossetia–Alania in Russia into South Ossetia, a breakaway republic of Georgia (country), Georgia. The road is manned at the town of in North Ossetia and is sometimes referred to as the Roki-Nizhny Zaramag border crossing.
