Grammis
The Grammis (sometimes referred to as the Swedish Grammy Awards) are music awards presented annually to musicians and songwriters in Sweden. The oldest Swedish music awards were instituted as a local equivalent of the Grammy Awards given in the United States. The awards ceremony is generally held each year in February in Stockholm. The awards were established in 1969 and awarded until 1972 when they were canceled, then revived in 1987. There are around 20 different award-categories, which have changed over the years. ''Hver gang vi møtes'' (meaning ''Every Time We Meet'' in Norwegian) is a Norwegian reality television show broadcast on the Norwegian TV 2 television station in 2012. It is structured in similar format to the Swedish series ''Så mycket bättre'' that had been launched in 2010. Season 1 (2012) The first series included 7 artists that would sing each other's song, with each of the first 7 episodes dedicated to songs by one of the participants. In an 8-episode series, in the first seven episodes, the participants would sing songs pertaining to one specific participant. The 8th, final, episode would be a wrap-up with duos by participants. Polar Music Prize
The Polar Music Prize is a Swedish international award founded in 1989 by Stig Anderson, best known as the manager of the Swedish band ABBA, with a donation to the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. The award is annually given to one contemporary musician and one classical musician. The Roxy Theatre (often just the Roxy) is a nightclub on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California, owned by Lou Adler and his son, Nic. History The Roxy was opened on September 20, 1973, by Elmer Valentine and Lou Adler, along with original partners David Geffen, Elliot Roberts and Peter Asher. The Apollo Theatre was a Broadway theatre whose entrance was located at 223 West 42nd Street in Manhattan, New York City, while the theatre proper was on 43rd Street. It was demolished in 1996 and provided part of the site for the new Ford Center for the Performing Arts, now known as the Lyric Theatre. The annually recurring show is a Charity (practice), charity Fundraising, fundraiser for a chosen cause, the cause is changed each year.
