James Verity-Amm
James Nicholas Verity-Amm (born 8 June 1994) is a South African rugby union player. Currently released, he previously played for the in the United Rugby Championship and for the in the Currie Cup. He did play as a winger or full-back. Rugby career 2013–2015: Youth and Varsity Shield rugby Verity-Amm was born in Kroonstad, but grew up in the Western Cape, where he attended Hottentots Holland High School in Somerset West. In 2013, Verity-Amm made two appearances for the Cape Town-based in the Under-19 Provincial Championship. He played Varsity Shield rugby for in 2014 and 2015. He scored four tries in seven appearances in 2014 – including two in a match against – as UWC struggled in the competition, finishing second-bottom on the log. Kroonstad
Kroonstad (Afrikaans directly translated "Crown City") is the third largest city in the Free State (after Bloemfontein and Welkom) and lies two hours' drive on the N1 from Gauteng. Maokeng is an area within Kroonstad, and is occasionally used as a synonym of the town itself. It is the second-largest commercial and urban centre in the Northern Free State (after Welkom), and an important railway junction on the main line from Cape Town to Johannesburg. ''Maokeng'' is Sesotho and means "place of the thorn trees (mimosa trees)". History Kroonstad was established in 1855 by the Irish pioneer Joseph Orpen, and was the first founded after the independence of the Orange Free State. While ' means "crown", this was in fact the name of a horse that had drowned in the nearby ford. 2016 National Rugby Championship
The 2016 National Rugby Championship (known as the Buildcorp National Rugby Championship for sponsorship reasons) was the third season of Australia's National Rugby Championship. It involved eight professional rugby union teams, one team fewer than in the previous two seasons. The competition kicked off on 27 August 2016. Teams A major change was made for the 2016 season with the scrapping of the Sydney Stars team. The Australian Rugby Union did not renew their licence for the competition to consolidate playing strength of the teams in New South Wales. The North Harbour Rays subsequently changed their name to become the Sydney Rays.
