James Stevenson (musician)
James Stevenson is an English guitarist who has performed with the Alarm, Gene Loves Jezebel, Generation X (band), Gen X, the Cult, Holy Holy (tribute band), Holy Holy, the International Swingers and Chelsea (band), Chelsea. Career Stevenson started his career with the London-based punk band Chelsea (band), Chelsea in 1977, while he was still at school studying for A Level exams. He contributed to their early singles and also the first album ''Chelsea (British band album), Chelsea'' and second ''Alternative Hits''. He was asked to join early punk rock group, Generation X (band), Gen X, featuring Billy Idol as its lead guitarist in 1980/1981. After Gen X broke up in early 1981 he worked with Kim Wilde, contributing to her first album, Kim Wilde (album), ''Kim Wilde'', and second album, Select (album), ''Select'', and performing in all of Wilde's early videos including "Kids in America (song), Kids in America". Beki Bondage
Beki Bondage (born Rebecca Louise Bond) is an English singer, songwriter and guitarist, best known as the frontwoman of the punk rock, punk musical band, band Vice Squad. She appeared on the front cover of a number of influential Music journalism, music papers such as ''Melody Maker'', ''NME'', ''Smash Hits'' and ''Sounds (magazine), Sounds''. In 1983, she left Vice Squad to form the band Ligotage with Steve Roberts of UK Subs. Sales of their first single "Crime and Passion" (1983, EMI) were disappointing, and their only album, ''Forgive and Forget'', was released on the independent Picasso Records label. Following the release of two solo singles in 1985, Bondage formed The Bombshells (often billed as "Beki & the Bombshells") in 1986. Gary Holton
Gary Frederick Holton (22 September 1952 – 25 October 1985) was an English singer-songwriter, musician and actor. He was the frontman of the band Heavy Metal Kids (1972–1977), worked with Casino Steel (1981–1984), and played the part of Wayne (a.k.a. London) in the UK television comedy ''Auf Wiedersehen, Pet'' (1983–1985). Holton died from an overdose of morphine combined with alcohol in 1985. John Watts is a British musician and multimedia artist. He was born into a family of singers on 27 December 1954 in Frimley, Surrey. Watts began his career as a mental health worker having studied clinical psychology before finding success as a musician with his band Fischer-Z. He currently lives and works in Brighton, UK. Career Fischer-Z Having played the punk and new wave circuit through the early 1970s, Watts formed the band Fischer-Z with Steve Skolnik at Brunel University in 1976. Fischer-Z are a British rock group and main creative project of singer, guitarist and poet John Watts. In 1982 Watts temporarily dissolved Fischer-Z and started a solo career under his own name. John Watts has gone on to release both solo and Fischer-Z projects. The original line-up consisted of Watts (vocals, guitar), Steve Skolnik ( keyboards), David Graham (bass) and Steve Liddle (drums). The band's name is pronounced ("fisher zed"), a pun on "fish's head" with the "h" dropped, as is usual in many British regional accents. The pun also relies on leaving the "r" unpronounced as in common British non-rhotic accents. Fischer-Z found success across Europe and sold more than two million albums. Glen Matlock
Glen Matlock (born 27 August 1956) is an English musician, best known for being the bass guitarist in the original line-up of the punk rock band the Sex Pistols. He is credited as a songwriter on 10 of the 12 songs on the Sex Pistols' only officially released studio album, '' Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols'', although he had left the band early in the recording process, credited as bassist and backing vocalist on only one song on the album, " Anarchy in the U.K." However, on the bootleg album '' Spunk'', Matlock played bass on all the songs, which included earlier studio recordings of 10 of the 12 songs that later appeared on the ''Bollocks'' album. Gypsy jazz (also known as sinti jazz, gypsy swing, jazz manouche or hot club-style jazz) is a musical idiom inspired by the Romani jazz guitarist Jean "Django" Reinhardt (1910–1953), in conjunction with the French jazz violinist Stéphane Grappelli (1908–1997), as expressed by their group the Quintette du Hot Club de France. ''Select'' is the second studio album by the English Pop music, pop singer Kim Wilde, released on 10 May 1982 by Rak Records, RAK Records. The album was not released in North America, neither were the singles off the album. Overview The first single from this album, "Cambodia (song), Cambodia", was released in November 1981 and signalled a different sound from the Wilde camp, with an electronic and Synthesizer, synth sound different from the rock sound of her previous studio album. The songs were again written by Marty Wilde, Marty and Ricky Wilde and produced by Ricky Wilde. The lyrics of the songs were similar to the first album: the second single "View from a Bridge" and the album track "Wendy Sadd" seemed to be about suicide, "Chaos at the Airport" described a nightmare about flying and "Ego" was quite the opposite of a love song.
