James Batemon
James Batemon III (born April 8, 1997) is an American professional basketball player plays for Força Lleida of the Spanish Liga ACB. He played college basketball for North Dakota State College of Science and Loyola Marymount before playing professionally in Latvia, France, Greece, Germany, Israel, Australia and Spain. In 2022, he was named the LNB Pro B Most Valuable Player. High school career Batemon attended Riverside University High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. College career Batemon played two seasons of college basketball with North Dakota State College of Science from 2015 to 2017 before transferring to Loyola Marymount where he played until 2019. Batemon made an immediate impact on the program in his two seasons after transferring to LMU from an All-American career at North Dakota College of Science. The Loyola Marymount Lions men's basketball team represents Loyola Marymount University in men's college basketball. The team competes in the West Coast Conference. The team has played its home game at Gersten Pavilion since 1981. Buzzer Beater
In timed sports, a buzzer beater is a successful shot made as the clock expires at the end of a period or at the end of the game, leaving zero seconds remaining. A buzzer sounds whenever a game clock expires, hence the name "buzzer beater." In basketball, the concept normally applies to baskets made at the end of a quarter, the second half, or overtime, but is sometimes applied to shots that beat the shot clock buzzer. A buzzer beater only counts if it leaves the player's fingers before the shot clock runs out. If the ball remains in the player's hands, then the shot violates the '' Trent Tucker Rule'' and does not count. It is the second division of the Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB), which has organized the league since the year 1987. The regular season champion and the winner of the promotion playoffs from each Pro B season are promoted to the top-tier level LNB Pro A, replaced by the bottom two teams in Pro A. The Jamaica Classic (branded as the Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic) was an early-season college basketball tournament that took place in November of each year at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Montego Bay, Jamaica, from 2017 through 2019 and in 2022. Each year, Jamaica Classic participants played games at campus sites in the United States, some before and some after the Montego Bay games. At Montego Bay, those which hosted the campus-site games played in the "Montego Bay Division" of the Classic, while those which visited the hosts for campus-site games played separately in the "Rose Hall Division." Lou Henson Award
The Lou Henson Award is an award given annually by Collegeinsider.com to the most outstanding mid-major men's college basketball player in NCAA Division I competition. The award, established in 2010, is named for esteemed men's college basketball head coach Lou Henson. Henson, who coached at Hardin–Simmons, New Mexico State, and Illinois, compiled 779 all-time wins. He is in the top 10 of NCAA coaching wins in men's basketball history.
