Jamaica Classic (basketball)
The Jamaica Classic (branded as the Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic) is an early-season college basketball tournament that takes place in November of each year at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Each year, Jamaica Classic participants play games at campus sites in the United States, some before and some after the Montego Bay games. At Montego Bay, those which host the campus-site games play in the "Montego Bay Division" of the Classic, while those which visit the hosts for campus-site games play separately in the "Rose Hall Division." A separate championship is awarded for each division, and a most valuable player is selected in each division. Games played at the Montego Bay Convention Centre are televised on the CBS Sports Network. History The tournament debuted in 2017 with a 14-team field taking part in campus-site games. 2017–18 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Season
The 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 10, 2017. The first tournament was the 2K Sports Classic and the season ended with the Final Four in San Antonio on April 2, 2018. Practices officially began on September 29, 2017. Rule changes The following rule changes were proposed for the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season: * Expanding the coaches' box from 28 feet to 38 feet. * Resetting the shot clock to 20 seconds when the ball is inbounded in the front court after a foul or violation (ex. kicked ball) by the defense. If there are more than 20 seconds on the shot clock in this situation, the shot clock will not be reset. 2022–23 Utah Valley Wolverines Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Utah Valley Wolverines men's basketball team represented Utah Valley University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Wolverines, led by fourth-year head coach Mark Madsen, played their home games at the UCCU Center in Orem, Utah, and competed as members of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). They finished with an overall record of 24–7, 15–3 in WAC play, to finish in first place. In the 2023 WAC tournament, they defeated Tarleton in the quarterfinals before losing to Southern Utah in the semifinals the following day. James Batemon III
James Batemon III (born April 8, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for Ironi Kiryat Ata of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. He played college basketball with North Dakota State College of Science and Loyola Marymount. Following his college career, Batemon played professionally in Europe. In 2022, he was named the LNB Pro B Most Valuable Player. High school career Batemon attended Riverside University High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Justin Barrus Bean (born November 17, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Memphis Hustle of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Utah State Aggies. High school career Bean played basketball for Southmoore High School in Moore, Oklahoma.
