Jake Muzzin (7476686436)
Jacob Muzzin (born February 21, 1989) is a former Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and works in Player Development for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously had played 12 seasons in the NHL for the Los Angeles Kings and Maple Leafs. Originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Muzzin went unsigned and returned to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) as an overage player. There he served as team captain and won the Max Kaminsky Trophy as the top defenceman in the OHL. As a free agent, Muzzin signed with the Kings in 2010, winning a Stanley Cup with the team in 2014. Muzzin was traded to Toronto during the 2018–19 season, where he played parts of five seasons. 2015 IIHF World Championship
The 2015 IIHF World Championship was the 79th event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), held from 1 to 17 May 2015 in Prague and Ostrava, Czech Republic. Until the 2024 Championship, it held the attendance record (741,690 total visitors). Canada won their 25th title by defeating Russia 6–1 in the championship final game. Canada went undefeated at the tournament to win its first IIHF championship since 2007. With the win, Canadian captain Sidney Crosby became a member of the Triple Gold Club and the first to be the team captain for all three events. In ice hockey, particularly the National Hockey League (NHL), Black Aces are players that are added to a team's roster during the Stanley Cup playoffs. They often consist of minor league players in the team's organization, and practice with the team during the playoffs in case of any injury or otherwise to players in the lineup. Origin The term "Black Ace" refers to the poker hand known as the dead man's hand, which includes the two black ace cards. The term was first applied in a hockey sense by Hockey Hall of Famer Eddie Shore, who, when he owned the Springfield Indians of the American Hockey League (AHL), would use the term "Black Ace" to refer to extra players on his roster who were returning from injury. The Manchester Monarchs were a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL). They played in Manchester, New Hampshire, at the SNHU Arena. They were the AHL affiliate of the National Hockey League (NHL) Los Angeles Kings during the team's entire existence. The Monarchs won their only Calder Cup in their final AHL season.
