Jack Siegfried Ryder (born 21 September 1981) is an English actor, best known for playing Jamie Mitchell in the BBC One soap opera '' EastEnders'' from 1998 to 2002. He has subsequently established himself as a film and theatre director. Early life Ryder was born in Woolwich, London, in 1981. His father is Jack Hues (real name Jeremy Allan Ryder), the founder of 1980s New Wave band Wang Chung. Career On leaving ''EastEnders'' in 2002, Ryder, then aged 21, performed as Justin Timberlake on ''Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes'' (which he won), appeared in the pantomime ''Sleeping Beauty'' at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury and was cast in a recurring role on Five's ''Family Affairs'' which he pulled out of when he learned that the series was soon to be axed. John Ryder (8 August 1889 – 3 April 1977) was a cricketer who played for Victoria and Australia. Born in the inner-city Melbourne suburb of Collingwood, Ryder was known as the "King of Collingwood" for his long association with the local cricket team. An all-rounder, he claimed 612 wickets and scored 12,677 runs in 338 district matches. Career He played in four series against England and one against South Africa. In 1921–22, he averaged more than 100 in a series against South Africa. Ryder was an aggressive batsman and strong on the drive. He was also a useful medium-pace bowler. His best performance was an innings of 201 not out against England, made in six and half hours at Adelaide in 1924–25. This included century partnerships of 134 (with Tommy Andrews) and 108 (with Bert Oldfield). He made 88 in the second innings. Frederick Bushnell Ryder (November 16, 1871 – June 5, 1936), commonly known as Jack Ryder, was an American football player and coach and sportswriter. He served as the second head football coach and the first paid at Ohio State University, coaching from 1892 to 1895 and again in 1898, compiling a record of 22–22–2. Ryder was later a noted sportswriter for ''The Cincinnati Enquirer''. Early years and playing career Ryder was born in Oberlin, Ohio in 1871, but moved with his family as a youth to New England. He attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, where he learned the game of American football. In 1888 Ryder returned to Oberlin to attend Oberlin College. He introduced the game to that school, and soon began to pressure the school administration to allow the Oberlin students to form an intercollegiate team. Jack McBride Ryder
Jack McBride Ryder (1928-April 2019) was the second president of Saginaw Valley State College. Ryder was born December 2, 1928, in Newport, Kentucky. He graduated in 1947 from Bellevue High School (Bellevue, Kentucky). He served 24 months in the United States Army, and upon discharge enrolled at Michigan State University. He graduated in 1952 with a bachelor of science degree. After graduation he served as a teacher and principal of the Anglo-American Schools, Athens Greece. In 1954 he returned to MSU for graduate work, earning his master of administration in 1962. He graduated with high honors with membership in Phi Kappa Phi, Kappa Delta, and Phi Delta Kappa. He won the Hinman Graduate Fellowship in 1961. Dr. Ryder was superintendent of Brady Community Schools, Saginaw County, from 1955 to 1957, and a member of the Saginaw County School Administrators Association. Jack Van Ryder (1899 – 1967) was an American cowboy and western artist, his colorful life was a series of cinematic moments, the fodder that inspired his distinctively western art.
