J. J. Jansen
Jeffrey Richard "J. J." Jansen (born January 20, 1986) is an American professional football long snapper for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He holds the record for the most games played by a Panther with 260, having held the record since Week 14 of 2022 against the Seahawks as his 222nd game. He played college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and was signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2008, but never appeared for the team. Early life Jansen attended high school at Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Rancho Solano Private School prior to that, where he starred as quarterback, leading the RSPS Mustangs to an MVAL championship in 1999. John Kasay
John David Kasay (born October 27, 1969) is an American former professional football player who was a kicker for 21 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), primarily with the Carolina Panthers. He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs and was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round of the 1991 NFL draft. Kasay left the Seahawks in 1995 to sign with the expansion Panthers, whom he was a member of for 16 seasons. He became the Panthers' all-time leading scorer, while also earning Pro Bowl honors during the 1996 season and making a Super Bowl appearance in Super Bowl XXXVIII. Retiring after one season with the New Orleans Saints, Kasay was one of the last remaining active members of the inaugural Panthers team. Touchback
In American football, a touchback is a ruling that is made and signaled by an official when the ball becomes dead on or behind a team's own goal line (i.e., in their end zone) and the opposing team gave the ball the momentum, or impetus, to travel over the goal line, but did not have possession of the ball when it became dead. Since the 2018 season, touchbacks have also been awarded in college football on kickoffs that end in a fair catch by the receiving team between its own 25-yard line and goal line. In the 2023 season, the NFL adopted the same rules as college football in regard to awarding touchbacks on kickoffs that end in a fair catch.
