John Isaac Friedman, known as J. Isaac Friedman (October 1871 – December 11, 1949), was an American politician who served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1908 to 1916 and in the Louisiana State Senate from 1922 to 1924 following the resignation of Charles Milton Cunningham. Louisiana State Legislature
The Louisiana State Legislature (french: Législature d'État de Louisiane) is the state legislature of the U.S. state of Louisiana. It is a bicameral body, comprising the lower house, the Louisiana House of Representatives with 105 representatives, and the upper house, the Louisiana State Senate with 39 senators. Members of each house are elected from single-member districts of roughly equal populations. The Louisiana State Legislature meets in the Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge. Early history Jean Noel Destréhan and Allan Bowie Magruder was selected by the joint legislature to be Louisiana's first United States Senators on 3 September 1812. Sylvan Friedman (May 19, 1908 – March 18, 1979) was an American politician. He served as a Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives. Foshee also served as a member of the Louisiana State Senate. Born in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. Friedman was the nephew of J. Isaac Friedman and Leon Friedman. He attended at the Natchitoches Central High School. Friedman served as a member of the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury from 1932 to 1944. Leon Friedman (politician)
Leon Friedman (October 23, 1886 – September 1, 1948) was a Democrat who served from 1932 to 1940 as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from his native Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. Friedman was a member of a prominent landowning Jewish family from Natchez in southern Natchitoches Parish. His father, Samuel Friedman (1848-1888), died when Leon was barely a year old. This left his mother, Caroline S. Friedman (1847-1906), as head of the household. A brother, Harry, died in 1895 at the age of fourteen. An older brother, J. Isaac Friedman, served in the state House from 1908 to 1916 and in the Louisiana State Senate for an abbreviated term from 1922 to 1924, following the resignation of Charles Milton Cunningham, the editor and publisher of ''The Natchitoches Times''.
