The is a private railway company in Kanagawa Prefecture and Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The company also operates excursion ships, and the group companies operate buses and taxis. The company has its roots in founded in 1893. Izuhakone Railway is a member of Seibu group. The Daiyūzan Line accepts PASMO, a smart card ticketing system. Jukkokutōge Cable Car
The , officially the , is a funicular line in Kannami, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan operated by the Izuhakone Railway. The line was opened on October 16, 1956 by the Sunzu Railway Company, which was acquired by the Izuhakone Railway in 1957. The line climbs Jukkoku Pass, literally meaning "ten countries pass", as it is claimed that ten "countries" (old provinces of Japan) can be seen from the summit of the pass. The line runs on average every eight minutes, with travel time in each direction at 3 minutes. The cars on the line were painted in the colors of the Seibu Lions baseball team until 2018. Lake Hamana
is a brackish lagoon in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Formerly a true lake, it is now connected to the Pacific Ocean by a channel. As an internal body of water, it is considered Japan's tenth-largest lake (by area). It spans the boundaries of the cities of Hamamatsu and Kosai. Data The lake has an area of 65.0 km2 and holds 0.35 km3 of water. Its circumference is 114 km. At its deepest point, the water is 16.6 m deep. The surface is at sea level. History In ancient times, Lake Hamana was a freshwater lake. However, the 1498 Meiō Nankaidō earthquake altered the topography of the area and connected the lake to the ocean. As a result, the water in the lake is now brackish. At the end of World War II two experimental Type 4 Chi-To tanks were dumped into the lake to avoid capture by Occupation forces. Lake Ashi
, also referred to as Hakone Lake or Ashinoko Lake, is a scenic lake in the Hakone area of Kanagawa Prefecture in Honshū, Japan. It is a crater lake that lies along the southwest wall of the caldera of Mount Hakone, a complex volcano that last erupted in 1170 CE at Ōwakudani. The lake is known for its views of Mount Fuji, its numerous hot springs, historical sites, and ryokan. The lake is located on the Tōkaidō road, the main link between Kyoto and Tokyo. A number of pleasure boats and ferries traverse the lake, several inspired by the design of sailing warships. Most visitors to Lake Ashi stay in one of the hotels or ryokan located in the area to visit some of the local attractions. There is also a campsite at the north end of the lake. Izuhakone Railway Sunzu Line
The is a commuter railway line of the Izuhakone Railway, a private railroad in Japan. The line connects Mishima Station in the city of Mishima with Shuzenji Station in the city of Izu, both within Shizuoka Prefecture. The name "Sunzu" comes from the former provinces of Suruga and Izu, although the line at present operates only within the borders of former Izu Province.
