Izar Algueró
Izar Algueró Txibite (born 1996) is a Spanish film, theater and television actress, singer, bertsolari and dancer. Early life and education Izar Algueró was born in Leitza, Navarre, Basque Country (Spain). Algeró studied a bachelor's degree in anthropology at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). She combined her university studies with theater training and audiovisual work. Career Since she was little she was involved in show business. In 2007 she participated in the hit TV talent show ''Egin kantu!'' from ETB 1 and in Betizu, together with Ainhoa Nieto, as contestants, and were in third position. From a young age, she joined the municipal theater group of Leitza (Navarra). She is currently part of the "Abarka Theater Company", with which she has staged the theatrical production ''Ortentsia izan nahi dut'', directed by Ander Lipus, a play with text by Oier Guillan and Joseba Sarrionaindia. ETB 1
ETB 1 (''ETB Bat'') is the first television channel from the Euskal Irrati Telebista group in the Basque Autonomous Community, Navarre and the French Basque Country. The channel broadcasts entirely in the Basque language. History In 1979 the Statute of Autonomy of the Basque Country was approved, the document contained the possibility of creating broadcast media owned by the Basque government, which would be used for the normalization of the Basque language. The channel began test transmissions on 31 December 1982 and officially launched on 16 February 1983 as ETB, using this name until the launch of its sister ETB 2 on 31 May 1986, at which point ETB was renamed to ETB 1. The Basque Summer University (in Basque and officially: Udako Euskal Unibertsitatea, UEU) is an educational institution created in 1973 for the promotion of the Basque language at the university level. Joseba Sarrionandia
Joseba Sarrionandia Uribelarrea (Iurreta, Biscay, April 13, 1958) is a Basque writer who has published a large number of books of poetry and short stories, as well as novels. He has been awarded on numerous occasions for his work, and is nowadays a respected literary personality in the Basque Country. In the early 80s, he was member of the Basque separatist group ETA. In 1985 he escaped from prison and since then he lived underground for decades while continuing to create and publish. In November 2016, it was revealed that he lives in Cuba, where he holds a position as lecturer at the University of Havana. Biography He earned a Basque Philology PhD from the University of Deusto, Bilbao and started working as a Basque language teacher.
