Itsuko Sue Nishikawa
Itsuko "Sue" Nishikawa pioneered Southern Baptist faith and values in the territory and State of Hawaii in the latter half of the 20th century. Early life Nishikawa was born Itsuko Saito to Masanari Saito and Tei Saito née Shida, immigrants to Hawaii from Fukushima Prefecture, Fukushima, Japan. The Baptist World Alliance (BWA) is an international communion of Baptists, with an estimated 51 million people from 266 member bodies in 134 countries and territories as of 2024. Rap Reiplinger
James Kawika Piʻimauna "Rap" Reiplinger (July 16, 1950 – January 19, 1984) was a Hawaiian comedian, whose humor is an integral part of Hawaii today. Biography After attending Punahou School, Reiplinger began performing professionally. In 1974 he helped create the comedy ensemble ''Booga Booga'' with James Grant Benton and Ed Kaʻahea. In 1982, he received an Emmy Award and bronze medal from the International Film and Television Festival of New York for the "Most Outstanding Television Production" for his television special, ''Rap′s Hawaii'', which he wrote and in which he starred. Reiplinger's writing, performance, and comic genius was part of the second Hawaiian Renaissance of the 1970s and 1980s. Reiplinger was married to television journalist Leesa Clark Stone from October 25, 1983 until his death on January 19, 1984. A comedian (feminine comedienne) or comic is a person who seeks to entertainment, entertain an audience by making them laughter, laugh. An organism's sex is female ( symbol: ♀) if it produces the ovum (egg cell), the type of gamete (sex cell) that fuses with the male gamete (sperm cell) during sexual reproduction. Hawaii Baptist Academy (HBA) is a private, co-educational, college preparatory primary and secondary Christian school that serves grades K-12 on three campuses. The school is governed by a board of directors elected by the executive board of the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention, an affiliate of the Southern Baptist Convention. History In 1944 the Woman's Missionary Union of Virginia pledged $125,000 toward a school in Hawaii. The Southern Baptist Convention Foreign Mission Board began the school in 1947, assigning Southern Baptist Convention missionaries Hugh P. and Mary McCormick to carry out the project.
