Rap Reiplinger
James Kawika Piʻimauna "Rap" Reiplinger (July 16, 1950 – January 19, 1984) was a Hawaiian comedian, whose humor is an integral part of Hawaii today. Biography After attending Punahou School, Reiplinger began performing professionally. In 1974 he helped create the comedy ensemble ''Booga Booga'' with James Grant Benton and Ed Kaʻahea. In 1982, he received an Emmy Award and bronze medal from the International Film and Television Festival of New York for the "Most Outstanding Television Production" for his television special, ''Rap′s Hawaii'', which he wrote and in which he starred. Reiplinger's writing, performance, and comic genius was part of the second Hawaiian Renaissance of the 1970s and 1980s. Reiplinger was married to television journalist Leesa Clark Stone from October 25, 1983 until his death on January 19, 1984. Punahou School
Punahou School (known as Oahu College until 1934) is a private, co-educational, college preparatory school in Honolulu, Hawaii. More than 3,700 students attend the school from kindergarten through 12th grade. The school was established by Protestant missionaries in 1841. History From 1853 to 1934, the school was known as Oahu College. Punahou has educated members of the Hawaiian royal family, but is not to be confused with the Royal School. During World War II, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers commandeered much of the Punahou campus. Castle Hall, formerly the girls' dormitory when Punahou had boarding students, was used as a command center, buildings were connected with tunnels, athletic fields were used as parking lots, and the library was cleared to become sleeping quarters and an officer's mess. ''Hawaii Five-O'' is an American police procedural drama series produced by CBS Productions and created by Leonard Freeman (not to be confused with the remake '' Hawaii Five-0,'' with a numeral 0 in the title). Set in Hawaii, the show aired for 12 seasons on CBS from September 20, 1968, to April 5, 1980. The show starred Jack Lord as Detective Captain Stephen "Steve" McGarrett, the head of a fictional state police task force in Hawaii.
