Istanbul Metro
The Istanbul Metro ( tr, İstanbul metrosu) is a rapid transit railway network that serves the city of Istanbul, Turkey. It is operated by Metro Istanbul, a company (formerly known as ''İstanbul Ulaşım A.Ş.'' before 2016), a public enterprise, controlled by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The oldest section of the metro is the M1 line, which opened in 1989; it now includes 111 stations in service, with 100 more under construction. The system consists of eight lines: the lines designated M1A, M1B, M2, M3, M6, M7 and M9 are on the European side of the Bosporus, while Lines M4 and M5 are on the Asian side. The European and Asian networks do not connect directly, but have been linked to each other through the Marmaray system since 2013. Boğaziçi Üniversitesi (Istanbul Metro)
Boğaziçi Üniversitesi, formerly named Hisarüstü, is an underground rapid transit station on the M6 line of the Istanbul Metro. It is located in northeast Beşiktaş under Hisar Üstü Nispetiye Avenue. The station is named after the Boğaziçi University which is located right next to it. A funicular railway is planned between Hisarüstü and Aşiyan, on the Bosphorus. The T5 Eminönü–Alibeyköy Coach Station tram line ( tr, T5 Eminönü–Alibeyköy Cep Otogarı tramvay hattı) is a tram line following the coastline of the Golden Horn on the European side of Istanbul, Turkey. Construction of the line began in 2016. The first section consisting of 12 stations between ( tr) and Alibeyköy Coach Station at a length of was officially opened on 1 January 2021. When completed, the line will be long with 14 stations each of length, and is expected to go into service in 2021. 30 trains will carry up to 114,000 passengers a day. Istanbul Tram
The Istanbul Tram ( tr, İstanbul Tramvayı) is a modern tram system on the European side of Istanbul. The first section, the T1 opened in 1992, followed by the T2, which opened in 2006. In 2011, the T1 and T2 merged, with the line retaining the T1 name. The T4 and the T5 lines followed, opening in 2007 and 2021, respectively. Line M11, officially referred to as the M11 Gayrettepe–Istanbul Airport–Halkalı Metro Line ( tr, Gayrettepe-İstanbul Havalimanı-Halkalı Metro Hattı), is a rapid transit line of the Istanbul Metro, currently under construction in Istanbul, Turkey. The Kağıthane — Istanbul Airport portion of the line is currently planned to open in January 2023. Line M12, officially referred to as the M12 Göztepe-Ataşehir-Ümraniye line, is a proposed rapid transit line of the Istanbul Metro system, currently under construction in the Asian part of Istanbul, Turkey.
