The Chamber of Representatives (; ; ) is one of the two chambers in the Bicameralism, bicameral Belgian Federal Parliament, Federal Parliament of Belgium, the other being the Senate (Belgium), Senate. Brussels (; ; ) is one of the 11 multi-member constituencies of the Chamber of Representatives, the lower house of the Belgian Federal Parliament, the national legislature of Belgium. The constituency was established in 2014 following the Sixth Belgian state reform. It is conterminous with the region of Brussels. The constituency currently elects 16 of the 150 members of the Chamber of Representatives using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. Élisabeth Degryse (born 22 September 1980) is a Belgian politician. A member of Les Engagés, she has been Minister-President of the French Community of Belgium since 16 July 2024, also responsible for the Budget, Higher Education, Culture and International and Intra-Francophone Relations. She was also a federal deputy in July 2024. Early life and education Degryse is the eldest of five children in a Brussels family. Her father was first a teacher then a politician and her mother, a social nurse and nursery director. She studied humanities at the Institut Saint-André, in Ixelles, then she studied history and began a degree in political science at the Catholic University of Louvain. (LE, , ) is a centrist French-speaking political party in Belgium. The party originated in the split in 1972 of the unitary Christian Social Party (PSC-CVP), which had been the country's governing party for much of the post-war period. It continued to be called the Christian Social Party (, PSC) until 2002 when it was renamed the Humanist Democratic Centre (, CDH). It took its current name on 17 March 2022, and currently is a member of the governing national coalition in Belgium, along with the Walloon and French Community coalition governments.
