Ismael Fuentes
Ismael Ignacio Fuentes Castro (born 4 August 1981) is a Chilean former footballer who played as centre back. Club career Fuentes made his debut with Deportes Linares in the Primera B de Chile and then he moved to Rangers in 2001. International career Fuentes represented Chile at under-20 level in the 2001 South American Championship. At senior level, he made 30 appearances and scored one goal between 2004 and 2010. International goals Post-retirement Fuentes was elected a member of the Regional Council of Maule for the Linares Province in the 2024 Chilean regional elections supported by Independent Democratic Union. Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite (; born 22 April 1982), commonly known as Kaká () or Ricardo Kaká, is a Brazilian former professional Association football, footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. In his prime at A.C. Chilean Rodeo
Rodeo is a traditional equestrian sport in Chile, declared the national sport in 1962. Chilean rodeo is different from the rodeo found in North America. The sport, in its modern form, is strictly regulated. Chilean Horses are used exclusively and riders are required to wear traditional ''huaso'' clothing. Rancagua hosts the annual Campeonato Nacional de Rodeo, the nationwide rodeo championship. The greatest rider in the sport's history is considered to be Ramón Cardemil, who won the national title seven times; the last champions were Juan Carlos Loaiza and . The Independent Democratic Union (''Unión Demócrata Independiente'', UDI) is a conservative and right-wing political party in Chile, founded in 1983. Its founder was the lawyer, politician, law professor and senator Jaime Guzmán, a civilian allied with Augusto Pinochet. Its ideological origins date back to Guzmán's Guildist Movement, born out of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile in 1966, espousing the independence and depoliticization of intermediate bodies of civil society. 2024 Chilean Regional Elections
The 2024 Chilean regional elections were held on 26 and 27 October 2024, along with the municipal and councilor elections. This was the first time that the 16 regional governors, along with the 302 members of the 16 regional councils, will be elected simultaneously. Regional governors serve a four-year term and can only be re-elected once. If none of the candidates in a region obtains 40% of the valid votes, a second round will be held between the top two candidates on the fourth Sunday after the first round. In this case, the runoff took place on 24 November 2024. The Law No. 21.524 reinstated mandatory voting in all elections and referendums held in the country, except for primaries. Maule Region
The Maule Region (, ) is one of Chile's 16 first order administrative divisions. Its capital is Talca. The region derives its name from the Maule River which, running westward from the Andes, bisects the region and spans a basin of about 20,600 km2. 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualification (CONMEBOL)
The South American zone of 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification saw ten teams competing for places in the finals in South Africa. The format is identical to that used for the previous three World Cup qualification tournaments held by CONMEBOL.
