The Institute of Audio Research (IAR) was an educational institution in New York City. Students of IAR were offered a wide variety of academic programs in the field of music production and audio engineering. Students could choose from courses in audio electronics, digital music production, mixing music, and audio processing and storage, among others. It was founded in 1969 and closed in 2017, before partially resurfacing as part of Five Towns College in 2022. History The Institute of Audio Research was founded in 1969. IAR started as a seminar program for working engineers. By the early 1970s, there was an enormous demand for training from people with no prior background or experience who wanted to find a way into the music recording industry. Hani (born Hani Adnan Al-Bader) is a Kuwaiti / American record producer and remixer based in New York, notable for his restructurings of hits by artists ranging from Michael Jackson to Alicia Keys, as well as his original productions. His 1999 release, "Baby Wants to Ride", reached number 1 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. DJ Yonny (born Jonathan Ávila; May 17) is an American DJ, producer and remixer. Known for his time on New York City's radio station WBMP and on Philadelphia's radio station WRDW-FM. He is also a member of The Heavy Hitters DJs. Early life Jonathan Ávila was born in Queens, New York to Colombian parents. He graduated from the Institute of Audio Research in March 2005. Career Radio Yonny's big break on the radio came when he became the associate producer for WWPR's morning show called "The Star & Buc Wild Show". Coheed and Cambria is an American progressive rock band from Nyack, New York, formed in 1995. Steven Mandel (born 1969) is an American music producer, audio engineer, songwriter, record label executive, radio DJ, and podcaster. The Fania All-Stars is a musical group formed in 1968 as a showcase for the musicians on Fania Records, the leading salsa music record label of the time. History Beginnings In 1964, Fania Records was founded in New York City by Jerry Masucci, an Italian-American lawyer with a love for Cuban music, and Johnny Pacheco, a flutist, percussionist and bandleader born in the Dominican Republic but raised in the South Bronx who had similar musical tastes.
