''Indira En Selvam'' () is a 1962 Indian Tamil-language drama film, directed by C. Padmanaban and produced by S. Soundappan and C. Chenna Kesavan. The film's script was written by Viruthai Ramasamy, with music by C. N. Padurangan and H. R. Pathmanabha Sastri. The film stars Baby Sumangala, Pandari Bai, M. R. Radha and S. A. Ashokan, with Nagesh A. Karunanidhi, Gemini Chandra and C. Lakshmi Rajyam in supporting roles. The film was an average success. Plot Indra is a child whose mother dies in labour. A kindhearted nurse brings her up as her own child. The nurse's life becomes increasingly unbearable as she is harassed by the advances of a villainous doctor. Left with no choice, she moves to another town, where she joins a hospital. As part of the condition of employment, she declares that she has no dependents. Pandari Bai
Pandari Bai (1930 – 29 January 2003) was an Indian actress who worked in South Indian cinema, mostly in Kannada cinema during the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. She is considered Kannada cinema's first successful heroine. She has acted as both heroine and mother to stalwarts such as Rajkumar, M. G. Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan. She was the heroine in Rajkumar's debut movie '' Bedara Kannappa'' and also Sivaji's debut movie '' Parasakthi''. She has acted in over 1,000 films in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Nagesh (born Cheyur Krishnarao Nageshwaran; (27 September 1933 – 31 January 2009) was an Indian actor, mostly remembered for his roles as a comedian in Tamil films during the 1960s. Nagesh was born in Dharapuram. He acted in over 1,000 Cinema of India, films from 1958 to 2008, performing in a variety of roles as comedian, lead roles, supporting actor and antagonist. Radha (born 1932) and Jayalakshmi (1932 - 2014), popularly known as Radha Jayalakshmi ( ta, ராதா ஜெயலட்சுமி), were an Indian Carnatic music vocalist duo as well as playback singers in films in the 1940s and 1950s.
