The Identity–Liberties (, , IDL) is a French right-wing List of political parties in France, political party currently led by Marion Maréchal. The party was founded in 2013 and was initially known as Common Sense (). In 2020, the party changed its name to the Conservative Movement (, ). Marion Maréchal took over the party in October 2024, and changed its name to IDL. History Common Sense The Common Sense association was established in 2013, in opposition to the law introducing same-sex marriage in France. It was then integrated into the Union for a Popular Movement. During the 2017 French presidential election, 2017 presidential election, Common Sense actively supported the candidacy of François Fillon. Marion Jeanne Caroline Maréchal (; ; born 10 December 1989), known as Marion Maréchal-Le Pen from 2010 to 2018, is a French politician who has served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) since 2024 European Parliament election in France, 2024. Guillaume Peltier (; born 27 August 1976) is a French politician, former teacher and business leader, who was elected as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) in 2024.
