Rasheed Shekoni
Colonel Rasheed Alade Shekoni started his military career as a young boy in the Nigerian Military School where he did his form 1 to form 5 before moving to the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA). He was a Military Administrator of Jigawa State from August 1996 to August 1998 during the military regime of General Sani Abacha, and then of Kwara State from August 1998 to May 1999 during the transitional regime of General Abdulsalami Abubakar. He built the Rasheed Shekoni Specialist Hospital in Dutse, capital of Jigawa state, but it was then abandoned for ten years before it could be equipped and put to use. In Kwara State he completed building the 360-unit Adinimole Housing Estate. However, the succeeding government of Mohammed Lawal took four years to allocate the flats. Jigawa State ( Hausa: ''Jihar Jigawa'' (Fula Leydi Jigawa 𞤤𞤫𞤴𞤮𞤤 𞤶𞤭𞤺𞤢𞤱𞤢) is one of the 36 states of Nigeria, located in the northern region of the country. Sani Abacha
Sani Abacha (20 September 1943 – 8 June 1998) was a Nigerian military officer and politician who ruled as the military head of state of Nigeria from 1993 until his death in 1998. He seized power on 17 November 1993 in the last successful coup d'etat in the military history of Nigeria. He was the Chief of Army Staff between 1985 to 1990; Chief of Defence Staff between 1990 to 1993; and Minister of Defence. Abacha became the first Nigerian Army officer to attain the rank of a full military general without skipping a single rank. His rule saw the achievement of several economic feats and also recorded human rights abuses and several political assassinations. Dutse is the capital city of Jigawa State Jigawa State (Hausa: ''Jihar Jigawa'' (Fula Leydi Jigawa 𞤤𞤫𞤴𞤮𞤤 𞤶𞤭𞤺𞤢𞤱𞤢) is one of the 36 states of Nigeria, located in the northern region of the country.
