IWRG Anniversary Shows
The International Wrestling Revolution Group Anniversary Shows is an annual major ''lucha libre'' event produced and scripted by the Mexican International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG; sometimes referred to as ''Grupo Internacional Revolución'' in Mexico). The show is always held on or just after January 1 each year, marking the creation of IWRG on January 1, 1996. The anniversary shows are often, but not always main evented by a ''Lucha de Apuestas'', or "bet match", where a wrestler will put his wrestling mask or hair on the line. The first Anniversary show was held on January 1, 1997 but records are unclear on the actual results of the show. Some years the anniversary is celebrated by IWRG holding one of their other annual shows to commemorate the date, such as the January 2009 '' Guerra del Golfo'' ("Gulf War") that was also the IWRG 13th Anniversary Show. International Wrestling Revolution Group
International Wrestling Revolution Group (Grupo Internacional Revolución in Spanish language, Spanish; the Spanish name is used for the promotion while the English initials are used for the title governing body) is a Lucha Libre professional wrestling promotion, promotion based in Naucalpan, State of Mexico, Mexico. Founded in 1996 by Adolfo Moreno and since Moreno's death in late 2007 has been controlled by his sons Alfredo and Marco Moreno. IWRG has its own championships but like many Mexican promotions recognizes champions from other promotions, occasionally allowing them to defend those titles on IWRG shows. In recent times the company has become a more direct competitor to Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion (AAA), acquiring a national television deal with TV Azteca and using a number of talent that have left CMLL or AAA to bolster their ranks and profile. Guillermo Martinez Cid (born July 29, 1972) is a Mexican ''Lucha libre, luchador'', or professional wrestling, professional wrestler, known under a variety of ring names, primarily Bombero Infernal. He was the first person to wrestle under the name AK-47 but was Oficial AK-47, later replaced, he also worked as Matrix, Kraneo, Capitán Muerte and Temerario Infernal. Perros del Mal Producciones (Spanish for "Evil Dogs Productions"), often referred to as just 'Perros del Mal', was a Mexican professional wrestling promotion founded in October 2007 by Perro Aguayo, Jr. when he left Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre and became inactive around 2015. The promotion shared a name with Aguayo, Jr.'s wrestling stable (group) ''Los Perros del Mal'' and the stable is the main ''Rudo'' (villain) group in the promotion. The promotion had an "open door policy" which meant they did not generally have wrestlers under contract but hired them on a per appearance basis. IWRG El Protector
El Protector is an annual lucha libre tournament held by the Mexico, Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) in January of each year. The ''El Protector'' tournament started in 2012 but was preceded in 2010 and 2011 by the ''Torneo Relampago de Proyeccion a Nuevas Promesas de la Lucha Libre'' ("Projecting a new promise lightning tournament"), a tournament with the same format and concept. The concept of the tournament is to team a young up-and-comer with a veteran and use the tournament to help showcase the younger talent, the young winner is often someone IWRG has plans for, although at times it has not always had the desired result.
