Background In May 2020, IDN Media, a media company founded by Winston Utomo and William Utomo, officially launched IDN Pictures, a technology-based film company that focuses on stories and data to create film and video content intended to Millennials and Gen Z audiences in Indonesia, after acquisition of the film company Demi Istri Production. 26th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival
The 26th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (), an international film festival held in Bucheon, South Korea, began on 7 July 2022 with the slogan 'Stay Strange'. A non-competitive international film festival with a competitive section, opened with film '' Men'' by Alex Garland. This year the festival resumed its offline events after two years, which were curtailed due to COVID-19. The 42nd Indonesian Film Festival ceremony, presented by Indonesian Film Board and Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, honored the achievement in Indonesian cinema released from 1 September 2021 to 31 August 2022. 2021 Jakarta Film Week
The inaugural edition of Jakarta Film Week was held on 18 to 21 November 2021 by the Tourism and Creative Economy Department of Jakarta as an effort to support the revival of film industry post the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The festival was held in-person and virtual around Central Jakarta at the CGV Grand Indonesia, Metropole XXI, and Ashley Hotel, also through streaming service Vidio.
