ICTP Ramanujan Prize
The DST-ICTP-IMU Ramanujan Prize for Young Mathematicians from Developing Countries is a mathematics prize awarded annually by the International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Italy. The prize is named after the Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. It was founded in 2004, and was first awarded in 2005. The prize is awarded to a researcher from a developing country less than 45 years of age who has conducted outstanding research in a developing country.. Mathematics is an area of knowledge that includes the topics of numbers, formulas and related structures, shapes and the spaces in which they are contained, and quantities and their changes. Fernando Codá Marques
Fernando Codá dos Santos Cavalcanti Marques (born 8 October 1979) is a Brazilian mathematician working mainly in geometry, topology, partial differential equations and Morse theory. He is a professor at Princeton University. In 2012, together with André Neves, he proved the Willmore conjecture. SASTRA Ramanujan Prize
The SASTRA Ramanujan Prize, founded by Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA) located near Kumbakonam, India, Srinivasa Ramanujan's hometown, is awarded every year to a young mathematician judged to have done outstanding work in Ramanujan's fields of interest. Neena Gupta (mathematician)
Neena Gupta (born in 1984) is a professor at the Statistics and Mathematics Unit of the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata. Her primary fields of interest are commutative algebra and affine algebraic geometry. Life Neena Gupta was previously a visiting scientist at the ISI and a visiting fellow at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR). She has won the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology (2019) in the category of mathematical sciences, the highest honour in India in the field of science and technology. In 2022 she was awarded the Ramanujan award. She is the second woman from India who got this award. Carolina Araujo (mathematician)
Carolina Bhering de Araujo is a Brazilian mathematician specializing in algebraic geometry, including birational geometry, Fano varieties, and foliations. Education and career Araujo was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She did her undergraduate studies in Brazil, completing a degree in mathematics in 1998 from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. She earned her PhD in 2004 at Princeton University, where her dissertation, supervised by János Kollár, was titled ''The Variety of Tangents to Rational Curves''. She is currently a researcher at the Instituto Nacional de Matemática Pura e Aplicada in Brazil (IMPA), and the only woman (as of 2018) on the permanent research staff at IMPA. Hoàng Hiệp Phạm
Pham Hoang Hiep is a Vietnamese Mathematician known for his work in complex analysis. He is a professor at the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and director of the International Centre for Mathematical Research and Training. He was awarded the 2015 Prof. Ta Quang Buu prize (young prize) and the 2019 ICTP Ramanujan Prize. Ritabrata Munshi
Ritabrata Munshi (born 14 September 1976 in Calcutta (Kolkata), West Bengal) is an Indian mathematician specialising in number theory. He was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, the highest science award in India, for the year 2015 in mathematical science category. He is known for his contributions to the sub-convexity problem for automorphic L-functions. In a series of papers published in 2015 he introduced a new approach, based on the circle method, and was able to establish sub-convex bounds for genuine degree three L-functions. Later he extended his method to the case of GL(3)xGL(2) Rankin-Selberg convolutions. These cases were earlier considered beyond the reach of known techniques. He is affiliated to Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, and the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. Chenyang Xu
Chenyang Xu (; born 1981) is a Chinese mathematician in the area of algebraic geometry and a professor at Princeton University. Xu is known for his work in birational geometry, the minimal model program, and the K-stability of Fano varieties. Career After completing his PhD doctorate at Princeton under János Kollár's supervision, Xu joined MIT as a CLE Moore Instructor between 2008-2011. After a promotion to assistant professor at the University of Utah, Xu returned to Peking University in 2012 to join the Beijing International Center of Mathematical Research, subsequently promoted to professor in 2013.
