Martin Hürlimann (12 November 1897 in Zürich – 4 March 1984 in Zürich) was a Swiss publisher, better known in the English-speaking world as a photographer. Following successful completion, at Frauenfeld, of his school career, Hürlimann went on to study History, German literature and Philosophy at Zürich, Leipzig and Berlin universities. His doctoral thesis, submitted and accepted in 1924, was entitled ''Die Aufklärung in Zürich. Die Entwicklung des Zürcher Protestantismus im 18. Jahrhundert.'' In 1929, Hürlimann founded the newspaper "Atlantis", based in Berlin and specialising in international travel and related themes. Robert Hürlimann (born 18 August 1967 in Solothurn) is a Swiss curler. Curling career Hürlimann was a member of the Swiss team that won a gold medal at the 1992 Winter Olympics when curling was a demonstration sport. Later that year, he won a bronze medal at his first appearance at the European Curling Championships. Hürlimann played in his first World Curling Championship in 1998, as the alternate for the Swiss team, but he didn't play any games. He wouldn't return to international competition until 2008, when he played second for Stefan Karnusian at the European Curling Championships. The team finished fourth, with a record of 6-4. Thomas Hürlimann (born 21 December 1950) is a Swiss playwright and novelist. Biography Hürlimann was born in Zug, Switzerland. He is a son of the former government and federal councilor (Minister) Hans Hürlimann. He studied philosophy in Zürich and Berlin, worked as an assistant director and dramaturge at the Berlin Schiller Theater and was a guest lecturer at the German Institute for Literature in Leipzig. Hürlimann Brewery is a former brewery in Zürich, Switzerland, now owned by the Rheinfelden, Aargau based brewery Feldschlösschen, which is owned by Carlsberg. Hurlimann was founded in 1836 by Albert Hürlimann, and its management was in the same family for five generations. Hurlimann was one of the principal brewing companies of Switzerland (the other big ones being Calanda Bräu, Feldschlösschen and Cardinal Brewery). The founder was a world leader in the scientific study of yeast, and the brewery had a long history of yeast development. Ownership Hürlimann was absorbed by Feldschlösschen in 1996. Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Gruppe was sold to Carlsberg in November 2000. Hürlimann's ''Sternbrau'' is now brewed by Shepherd Neame to its original recipe.
