Hy-Vee PERKS 250
Stock car racing events in the NASCAR Xfinity Series have been held at the Iowa Speedway. The track held 2 races annually from 2011 to 2020, when the track was removed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The track returned to the schedule following the release of the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule, supporting a Cup Series race on the same weekend. Current race The Hy-Vee PERKS 250 is a 250-lap, 218.75-mile NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. The race has been held in May or June from 2011 to 2019 and was going to be held again in 2020 before being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The race was removed from the Xfinity Series schedule entirely in 2021. The race returned to the schedule in 2024. Sam Mayer is the defending race winner. Sam Mayer
Samuel Adam Mayer (born June 26, 2003) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 41 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Haas Factory Team. His father is the founder of QPS Employment Group, and former IndyCar Series driver, Scott Mayer. Mayer is the 2019 and 2020 East Series champion. He drove for GMS Racing (the other Drivers Edge Development team) both of those years in their No. 21 car and also won the inaugural championship of the ARCA Menards Series Sioux Chief Showdown in 2020. Trevor Mitchell Bayne (born February 19, 1991) is an American semi-retired professional stock car racing driver, Dirt track racing, dirt racing driver, team owner, and businessman.
